van voorst

Ive been offered a job through an agency(you know who) in milton keynes, driving for van voorst,i know the moneys not great, but so long as its legal i dont mind, any one got any upto date info on working for them.

come on,theres got to be someone who knows something, good or bad? are they running legal?are you treated good or bad, ive read some older post,i know some like it and some dont, want to know more about van voorst and how they operate?what work they do?what trucks they have? ive got a start on sunday and any info would help.

Surely if you are working through an agency if they want you to run bent you just do what is legal and let the agency know you are not prepared to work for a company that expects drivers to break the law and they need to have a word.

are they running legal?

You will have the keys to the truck, if your out of hours, park up & switch it off.

thanks for the replys, but thats dosent answer any of my questions!i wont run bent and the reason i posted in the first place was to find out as much info as possible so i dont waste my time starting for them if thats whats expected

Unless you are packing a job up to start with the agency…which I doubt very much. Then what have you got to lose by giving it a go and seeing what it is like for yourself?

all very helpfull, lol! :unamused:

my thoughts to skids!!!

The thing with these Dutch firms who ever they are be it Nedexco, HSF, VdB, Visbeen, Tundermann or the one you are going to work for, they ALL want their pound of flesh. They will not employ cab happy slackers and if you are a lazy sod you will not like it because you WILL work and it will all be legal.
The Dutch are a funny breed, hard to work out some times but basicly good to work for.
The money is not brilliant anymore but it’s not as bad as some, but its a living.
If I wasn’t working for the company I do now I would definately go back to working with the Dutch.
I hope that this helps you.

thats more like it! i dont mind working to the legal limits, and never been afraid to do a days work!Would like to find out abit more abought van voorst if anyone knows anything about them?

Hi guys, where to start…I started working for Van voorst last may through optimimum up until october last year when i thought the grass was greener and went else where…With things the way the are at this moment in time they are like many companies struggling to make money however they like others have their faults!!!
When i started last year we was told to claim my expenses back through VVI or Van Voorst BV as they are now known…but the way the work was going last year i couldnt get any where near their old yard in tholen to collect the money for the m6 toll or the dartford crossing which soon mounts up…getting the money back proved to be at the time like peeing in the wind…she would say one thing and optimum would say something else…hence not getting my money back!!!
As for running legal…make sure you get a truck with a didgi…when i started last year i was on an old Van Orselen daf xf…both front disks were shot drivers side drive tire cord showing through the list went on…so to say i was glad to change to another daf BT-SR-44 which is one of their own motors and wasnt to bad…but again trying to stay legal was a joke!!! After having 2 weeks off i lost the daf for a new MAN which ment i could stay legal but expect to work maximum hours!!! being an mk based driver ment i would stand a higher chance of getting home than some of the others at the time right up to october when i left…
I went back a few months ago but went on to one of neddy fh’s but for vvi…ran legal 99% of the time with the day running over my spread over…and the never ending spit rests!!!
If optimum paid decent money to be wkended i would of stayed working for albert…hence once again i have spat the dummy and walked…i had to get home midd week about 4 weeks ago…that week i worked 2and a half days and got £298 for the week
The next week was a full week with 5 nights out and a bank holiday i got £303…doesnt take a genius to work somethings wrong there!!!
Still this my own account of vvi…my advice is to stay clear!!! you will make more working direct for neddys and be home at the wkend unless its you turn to work…good luck Steve H ex bt-vt-07

thanks steve, thats the sort of reply i wanted.
