I have just been quoted over £600 to insure my 05 ■■■■■■. It’s a 6 seater ( factory made not a conversion ) but I think that is ridiculous has anyone any suggestions for a cheaper quote ?
Gladiator van insurance mirrored my 9yrs+ car ncb which gave me a price of £349 for a 12reg transit connect
I have two vehicles with Autonet, they seemed to be fairly competitive and also mirror the NCB.
Be very, very careful with autonet. I had my van insured with them, when I changed to a car and changed companies, I got stung for over £150 to cancel the policy and get proof of ncd. This was made up of admin fee, rebate of commission, cancellation of credit agreement etc, etc. a month or so later I got a snotty letter from them stating that I had underpaid, and they wanted another £30-odd! Have submitted complaint letters but heard nothing back so far. I will never touch them again!
Try NFU Mutual, not the cheapest, but a lot cheaper than £600, and no fuss if you have a claim.
Thx for the replies will try nfu I think.
Your lucky its not for hire and reward

…cheers for the heads up! Will keep an eye out.
Tried coversure today we did not discuss the six seats or that I tow a rather large caravan regularly and they wanted in excess of £700 !
Try Morethan, some of my family are with them, they are very competitive.
I’ll second NFU as having the best cover and service by a country mile, but they plough their own furrow cost wise, now and again surprisingly cheap, but usually highly priced, as good quality always is.
Cheers Juddian you are right there is more to it than a cheap quote.
My sprinter flat is with the Nfu £750 fully comp with green card hire and reward trailer included ,and only £50 windscreen excess .

Im with Autonet, several vehicles for several years. I found them the cheapest by far and have had complete satisfaction.
I am with Autonet as well. When I bought my van about 7 years ago not many companies would insure it for private use, or if they did the price was ridiculous, but Autonet had no such problem so I stay with them. Did try my local broker but no way would they touch a van, yet they insure tractors!
Pete.
