Does anybody know people currently on for van bentum?

Are they still advertising two years later?

Wow, this again.

Ask them about their take on fuel costs!

Without airing someone elses dirty laundry, MM pulled off some time ago.

It was missing something called a profit margin…

i know some one who is pulling for them and says the rates are £1.35 a mile, i wouldnt get out of bed for that!!!

DFDS and P&O are £1.21 AA Miles currently.

To be fair I think the truck will be going in the trader with the price of fuel. We are on Wincanton boxes at the moment, but some say it doesn’t pay, some say it does, so I think it could be a bit of favouritism in the office at times. It certainly doesn’t pay if you have a driver on it, with holiday pay, N/O money, etc.

Van Bentum also offer to pay a day rate due to the amount of time blowing stuff out, does anybody know how much that is?

Did anyone see the ad in Truck and Driver mag,for Uk subbies with above firm. The contact info is on Van de Bentums website.PTO and compressor kit needed.Well established and long running firm.

MMMMMH, i chap i no has just gone under due to van bentums not paying!!! or not paying on time if at any time!!! you have to have all the correct gear pumping equipment etc, but they dont pay that quick be warned!!!

Substantial investment in a silo compressor up to the standards, air temp max 80 degrees C,. means it needs a cooler, it need to be quiet, and it needs a microfilter.
Van Bentum doesn’t have a bad name as company to work for, neither on paying, but it’s always wise to check the payment conditions, as they are slightly different from the UK.
Also you will find out that Dutch company don’t pay at all if there is a dispute, that is they way they do business!
Here you pay and if you don’t agree, you need to try to get your money back, the Dutch don’t pay if there is a outstanding issue.
You can do that legal in Holland as long the money is available in your account or a blocked account, but many Dutch companies get in to bother in the UK if they keep their cloggie hat on.

I know someone who has 4 motors on there and all is well, plenty of work to keep them busy.

Plus 5 Subbies I believe chap!

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, fanny’s a rude bird!

Some conflicting opinions here then. Dot your i’s and cross your t’s from the get go by the sounds of it. All that tackle probly costs an arm and a leg as well.

circa 15k from what i’m told!

Jaysus, it’d want to be a good touch then.

MM is happy as larry on there. They seem to have consistent volumes and so far have treated him well enough.
Not sure about rates. Mileage based i think, he’s quite coy on the subject.
Imho though i’d be hesitant about investing that amount of money per truck for just one customer :exclamation: :open_mouth:

No harm in giving them a bell if you fancy something different.

my dads been subbing on there for my (and goaty’s) mate, no equipment to discharge tanks, all he’s been doing is picking trailers up from dock, and running out to other drivers and changing over with my mates drivers /VB drivers and back to docks with the loaded/empty trailers. Dad loves it as hes usually roping/sheeting/chaining loads, not desirable in this weather.

Their wash bill must be high, they carry some right crap and always look well turned out.

He run’s it for MM! Things have gone very well for them so far, one for T&D/Trucking i reckon! :sunglasses:

They didn’t use to bother much with washing out the inside, quick sweep out and fingers crossed was always the van Bentum way; but things may have changed recently.

I would be interested to know the rates they are paying because the way they go around annihilating rates, I can’t see it being that good.

£15k for a powder compressor with cooler in a box is about right, but it does depend on whose equipment you use.

All I will say is about van Bentum, after 15 years of seeing the way they operate from inside the silo job, is don’t expect everything to be as shiny as their tanks.
