Wonder if we can keep it going til someone gets post 730  :grimacing:

I’ve an idea.

So as I understand it the best running gear for a high power truck is a 6x2 midlift…

#730 and beyond.

Nah, it’s gotta be a tag… :grimacing:

I wonder if anybody else has an opinion…?

I have absolutely no idea how anyone could suggest that anything other than a 4x2 unit is even close to efficient!!! :smiling_imp:

Ross.

Request for a like button again!

The only configuration for me, 4x2 and trailer with three!

gogzy:

Bagsy 580, don’t even think about posting it…

You can have post 580. I’ve always preferred the sound of post 530 \8/ :sunglasses:

Thinking about it, the old half past five did have a lovely rumble to it. Agreed, it’s nicer than the 16 litre. Somehow less clinical and beefier. I’m going to stop now…

Now there is a man that has ‘good taste’, I have a photo some where of my old ‘Greg’ Globetrotter with tri axle air suspended tilt behind it & I think it’s the biz!!!

Being serious, I’m with you both on this. I hate 3 axle units unless they’re for a proper reason, (as opposed to a regulatory one). Can you post the pic for us please? I do like the look of a tilt, just not keen on using them…

a couple of my 4 wheelers with tilts

Cheers for that mate! Some lovely looking outfits there, I just love the Volvo.

1989, Clauds St Genis de Saintonge in France weekended with me mate Derek Hart, his is the 6x2 F10 parked in front of my 1982 4x2 F12 wuth tri axle tilt, can’t see much in this I’m affraid.

This is my ‘current ride’, awaiting resto for shows :sunglasses: (& a 4x2 as well)

I’ve got hundreds of pics, I’ll dig some out over the weekend, get them on photobucket & post a couple here.

Ross.

Lovely unit, the white one. Great pics, more please!

Thanks, it might not be a V8 but it is 16 litre :smiling_imp:

This is one of the pic’s the German dealer emailed me that ‘made me’ buy it

Here’s another.

Ross.

Always liked the look of the f10/12/16.

As have I. One of the best trucks ever made in my opinion. We have a 97 plate 143 and a 92 plate F12 and while both are great to drive and the Scania is more of an icon if I had to pick one to drive to Denmark tomorrow the Volvo would win hands down. The driving experience and comfort is remarkable for a 20 year old truck.

I have to agree with all the above sentiments, I had to move the ‘16’ the other day and it brought back so many memories from my days driving my old F12’s, the first thing that I noticed was the height & length of ‘throw’ of the clutch pedal, very old school!!
