Yes, I found out on Thursday morning, sad news indeed R.I.P Vic.(Vic Caygill, a proper old school lorry driver)
I didn’t personally know Vic only as a regular contributor on this forum, he seemed a popular guy who had made many friends over the years and knew his job inside out, It’s very sad to hear news like this, RIP Vic and condolences to the loved ones he has left behind.
Sincere condolences to his family and RIP Vic. Like most people on TN I did not know Him personally, but his contributions were always sensible and well informed. He will be missed . Kevmac47.
I did not know Vic personally, however when I made my first comments on trucknet, he was one of the first to reply. So he was a good Trucknet friend, and will be greatly missed. Apparently Vic delivered diesel to us in his Phillips days in the sixties, as he seems to have done to many Northern Hauliers. I think his son also contributes to this site, and if you read this, please accept my kindest regards and thoughts for your father

Hiya…sad news…didn’t know him to speak to but bet i’ve sat at table in the pops years ago haveing a chat.
i had a few laughs with him on TN…big shock…condolences to his family…Rest in peace mate you’ve earned it.
just a little to soon.
John
Like many others, I only knew Vic through TN, but I always found his posts full of common sense. Too few of his sort left.
Heartfelt condolences to his family.
What a sad loss of a very decent lad who has been a great “crack” over the past 3 years, and always very polite with it as well.Vic assured me that he delivered derv to our depot at Milnthorpe so during the time we were buying Phillips derv it was me that took delivery sometimes during the night,so I will no doubt have met him occaisionally. As Phillips used contractors 100% long before the other majors went down the same route I always found the lads on Phillips very friendly and obliging, split drop into two tanks,“no problem Mr Bewick”,unlike some of the gurning ■■■■■■■ “company” drivers. It’s a pity that the quality of Phillps derv didn’t match the quality of their delivery drivers.Anyway Vic me old Marra RIP the world is a poorer place now your gone, and my deepest condolences to the Family.Kind regards Dennis.
Well here we all are, we do not know each other, but we do…
I`m sad at v7victors passing, as if I had known him personally. Its a hard industry that we all work(ed) in, but the people are superb…rest in peace dear friend, and may your loved ones have peace in all our prayers.
