There are some interesting break calculation on dover ferry entusiasts where the ferry with longer time can help you to better use of your driving and break periods
eiamunk:
One of my contacts have on dfe showed that a 3-4 hours break on a ferry can give the driver help to use his working day rationally
A break of 3+ hours can be used as part of a split daily rest of 3+9 = full daily rest BUT legally to be used as rest the driver must have access to bunk etc for that period - is that possible on the dover/Calais ferry?
Realistically, I wonder if any of the authorities in the EU would bother to check the legality for the 3 hours bit?
We intend to offer the drivers a free bunk/berth if we can get the ramsgate-ostende up running
