Using a laptop overseas

Can anyone advise me about using a laptop overseas as we are going on holiday in December and will be flying. Hotels will have connections but what about travelling around in the car.Do I have to pay for a broadband package? Liz

Go wireless you will pick something up . naughty buy nice.

If you are lucky, you may be able to piggy-back someones unprotected wireless connection, as long as you have a wireless equipped laptop.
BT home Broadband includes WiFi internet access to enable you to use a laptop on the move.
Not sure how good the service is as I haven’t tried it yet.

Certain phone companies have a mobile internet package, this means using a PCMIA card modem and you receive a bill for usage, the same way as your mobile phone, Orange being one I know of.

Hope that is of some help
