Urine drug tests

My employer pays almost £15 p/h to those on the old contracts for Class 2 work. After the union getting involved (it’s illegal to pay people different salaries for same job) they announced would be bringing everybody onto same rate. Corona has given a handy excuse but it won’t wash for long. Saw a workmate’s payslip last month and was almost £3.5k!

Edit: That’s for the late shift though which is early afternoon till late eve, but still finished before midnight so not a proper graveyard shift.

But when you think…£40-£60 charged for each bin tipped and drivers doing 100+ a day. We’re each making the company £1000s per day.

Not quite so, I think.
As on other threads we hear of drivers doing the same job, but on different pay etc after being TUPEd over.
A long standing employee might be on a good existing contract, but a new starter might be on a newer worse one.
Equal pay laws are used to prevent discrimination on grounds of ■■■, race, etc. Not to prevent a company being “competitive” and seeking new cheap labour.
Happy to be corrected on this, though.
