Can I do this
Drove 2 1/2hrs then 45 brk then drove 2 1/2 hrs and rhey now want me to do another run that will take total 3 hrs if I take 15 mins now and 30 later then can I do this and stay legal ? Jx

Hi Jennie

I will try to help you to the best of my knowledge, although my user name is not Tachograph or Coffeeholic.

As I’m sure you are already aware you have so far done a total of 5 hrs driving, so you have 4 or 5 left.
(depending on if you have already used up your quota of 10’s this week. Unlikely on a Tuesday I guess).

So yes you can do another run.

You don’t need a break now, not until you have done another 2 hours driving, but yes, you could take 15 mins now, followed by 30 before a total of 4 hrs 30mins driving, since your last 45, is reached.

If you were to take a full 45 mins break now, you would then be able to do another 4 1/2 hrs driving.
(which may be limited to 4 if you have no 10’s left).

Thats brill thank q just wasn’t sure about the first 45 being too many brks as long as no coller being felt by vosa I’m happy
Off to London I go then
Thanks again

You can have as many 45’s as you like… You can drive an hour, have a 45, drive an hour, have a 45, etc. until you’ve done 9 (or 10) hours total driving and it’s perfectly legal. All having a break does every time is reset the 4.5h timer back to zero.

I imagine this would take you over the spreadover limit though.

Thank you for that information on hours  Really helpful
