Watchout for the trucks ,watchout for the buses,
Listen for the cyclist speeding by ,
Play your ipod but not too high, don’t look up and watch the planes go by, pay attention to the road and path, or else this morning could be your last.

Not a poet but i did try…

Mary had a bicycle she rode it on the grass,
Everytime the wheel went round a spoke stuck up her …!
I will leave you to finish it off.

When you need to cross the road,
It’s best to use the Green Cross Code,
Don’t listen to your iPod or you’ll be sorry,
When you get run over by a great big ■■■■ off lorry.

The hidden talent on here is amazing.

I wonder when we’ll actually find it.

Monday morning i’m off to school,
I walk down the road i’m no fool,
I always watch where i’m walking,
my minds on saftey even when i’m talking,

When I want to cross to other side
From traffic I do not want to hide
I look for a place with really good vision
So I can make a safe decision

I look at the drivers as well as their cars
Cos many of them seem to be on Mars
They play with phones and do not see
So may not be aware of me

Any good ?

If we only had some lessons from The Highway Code,
maybe not as many kids would get hurt on the road.

Monday morning i’m off to school,
I walk down the road i’m no fool,
I always watch where i’m walking,
my minds on saftey even when i’m talking,

I cross the road when the green man shows
as crossing when he’s a red man can mean a dead man.

When crossing the road i always look both ways
because most people seem to drive in a complete and utter daze.
Always looking out for that motorcycle or come to that a silent pedal cycle.

Remember the green cross code ‘Stop Look Listen Live’ if you dont do that your a complete div.

bad i know but it might give you some idea’s

Monday morning i’m off to school,
I walk down the road i’m no fool,
I always watch where i’m walking,
my minds on saftey even when i’m talking,
as I am talking my mind is doing the walking
I see the cars and the bikes and not forgetting
Old Mr Jones from no 7 who waits at the zebra crossing
to see us all across safely
and as we cross the road right now
my mind says a quite thank to
Mr Jones who stands out in the cold
to help us get safely to school and back
across the road our lollipop -man

Watch out for this, watch out for that
Is worthy to advise
Road safety needs our every care
…It’s a life-skill in opening eyes

Ears and feet complete our means
Of safely getting there
Take your time, don’t rush or tear
The bottom line? Take care!

Every morning I set off for School
Chatting loudly with my older friends
We are still quite young but act quite cool
Before running home when teaching ends

In the afternoon we all return to our homes
Having studied all day from our heavy tomes,
Not all worked as hard, some were real slackers
and sat in class playing with their knackers.

My mate goes to school, but doesn’t give a [zb]
Yesterday afternoon he was squished by a truck
Never paid attention, or listened to the master
That’ll teach the [zb] to run a bit faster!

Thanks for all the replies,Some really good ones, keep the thread running if there are any more budding poets about.

Malc, are you sure that you haven’t copied this from “Shakespeare’s Greatest Works” .

Monday morning I’m off to school,
I walk the pavement, I’m no fool,
I always watch where I am walking,
My minds on safety even when I’m talking.

My mum should have a Chelsea tractor,
Then walking wouldn’t be a factor.
And I could sit there looking down
At all the poor kids dodging round.

The lollipop man would run for cover,
When she came in sight around the corner.
She’d stop on the road outside the school
To drop me off cos she’s no fool.

Definite winner in my opinion!!
