drove past this site the other day and noticed a massive sign on their front gate something along the lines of
NOT SURE YOU CAN SQUEEZE YOUR TRAILER THROUGH THAT GAP■■? - GET OUT AND CHECK!!
have they had a lot of accident on site anybody know? looked quite a big yard, maybe its for those drivers foretting they haulin a 15.65m trailer do any other companies have similar signs for us proffesional drivers for when we deliver??
to me that’d be common sense - but to some it obviously wasnt as they wiped out the managers merc.
This accident was not caused by the driver hitting the bridge, I very much remember it. If you look to the left you see a container laying on it’s side, it was on a truck that was passing over the bridge and crashed through the bridge wall and landed on top of the UPS truck, so he didn’t try and get through a tight gap.
Those of you who are observant will notice the ‘Overnite’ truck facing the other way, that is the same company, same height trailer and clearly fits under.

Wrong i’m afraid
It was caused by the UPS Freight driver rolling the truck on the on ramp as he came under the bridge, the trailer behind is his other trailer. No other vehicle was involved.
Theres a certain soft drinks company in essex that when you first go, you pull in the gate up to the barrier and then walk to the security cabin.
There is a sign on the window that tells drivers to wait on the road outside, report to security before entering site…
Surely all so called professional drivers should know this beforehand…
