I’ve seen them advertising for what it says are mainly evenings and night starting at around £28000. Does anyone know what they are like down there? I’ve seen a thread from few month ago but that seems to be from agency point of view where I’m after a fully employed by them POV.
If it’s just a trailer drop and swap a couple of times a night back to yard then home to bed job it’s sounds just like what I’m after!
I can only say from what I’ve seen. I went to collect some pallets from UPS there, the gateman was great, really helpful. The yard was quiet with only a few warehouse guys milling about. Maybe that because I was there in the middle of the day.

Thanks again
Having worked for several different parcel/pallet companies they’re all like that. Some may have you go do a collection from a customer en-route but that’s about it. Down to hub, drop trailer or get tipped, go to sleep, wake up, hook up/reload, drive back to depot, go home.
easiest way is to go and actually ask fella. My job worked out better than most at our place (not UPS) .
Load up, pick up trailer, drive, tip, reload drive, drop trailer, fuel up, finish . even put the truck and trailer through the wash to fill the shift time up to make it look good
Is this work for UPS ( known as Buster Browns ) the brown parcels division … on Mill St East in Dewsbury … OR is it UPS . SCS @ Shaw Cross Dewsbury. Completely different jobs.
Much of the previous discussion on T/net ( which I have contributed too ) … has referred to the SCS division @ Shaw Cross … and has related to the tramping work. I know they also have day & night men on this work … think it is much the same … chase / chase / chase … 'cept you don’t do nights-out

Don’t know if this means anything to you pal but it’s a ‘feeder driver’
I have a feeling the Parcel division use that term ( never heard it @ Shaw Cross ). I think I’m right in saying UPS ( parcels ) DON’T have a hub … they trunk to their own depots … have step-frame box vans … also A-frame wag & drags. The European guys have “swap bodies” on the wag & drags.

UPS has one of the biggest parcel hubs in the country at Tamworth. Edit, they’re expanding the Hub with another 150,000 sq/ft
Typical work will be “feeding” to Tamworth or swapping trailers or boxes at EMA then taking them to Tamworth or Barking, could be Stanstead also. It used to be drive to the hub, swap trailers, sleep then drive back to depot. Now there is a lot of trailer/box swapping at various points.

Well that’s me told Didn’t know UPS hub was @ Tamworth - learn something new everyday as a trucker.
Knew about EMA … but thought that would be just the airfreight stuff.
Thanks for putting me right.
