Upgrading categories automatically

So after I passed my Cat C, I automatically got C1 added to my licence.

After passing my C+E, I got C1+E and B+E added too.

I assume if I do Cat D, I’ll get D1+E and D+E,

BUT…

I recently passed my Cat A motorcycle licence on direct access for the full A licence, yet my licence has come back showing only Cat A, but not A1 or A2.

How come?

Cat A is full unrestricted motorcycle license. A1 and A2 have different restrictions, I can’t remember what they are.

My license is the same only shows A.

And yes if you did cat D you would get both +E entitlements also.
