Unsuitable for hgv

No-one would be fined…It only says unsuitable, not prohibited so crack on driver.

bit like this road i go down most weeks, has one of those unstuitable for hgv’s signs, touch wood never met anyone yet - and it wont be me reversing either…

Looks like the A11 before they widened some of it

The road the HGV driving school I went to was down a “Unsuitable” road - sometimes I think they just put them there for fun. Most of 'em you could get 2 26 tonners side by side easy.

We use them on a daily basis, and i get a lot of ■■■■■■ signs, and shouts of 'you shouldn’t be down here in that thing, but i’m yet to get stuck down one.

The one i dont like going down is the A262 through Gouldhurst, anyone who’s been down there and round past the church will know what i’m talking about. You can cause absolute chaos down there

bjd:
if you use such a road that says unsuitable for hgv would that get you fined if so how much ?

its what drivings about pushing yourself.

Who steers while you’re pushing?

There is no such thing as unsuitable for HGV:

I like the editing, take it that’s where you cut out the ■■■■ ups? Also, rigid??

Rigid, 18t, 7,5 m lenght

This one:

And I did not cut anything bad, just boring bit of going straight road and moments where I took the camera of the dashboard to make some pictures. And a bit at the start and the end where you can see my face.

Actually this editing was a failure - hence no original sound, as I ■■■■■■ it up.

I need to practise a bit more.

A few monthes I had to go down a road just outside Gillingham in Dorset and it was signed “unsuitable for HGVs”, and it really was unsuitable, but the trouble was I was delivering to the village hall for an event they were having there the next day
Nearly got stuck on an S bend though

We use them all the time going out over exmoor with a truck and drag tipper outfit taking lime this time of the year and bedding sand in the winter, mind you these drags will go most places running at 44 tones not sure i would like to take an artic down some of them though…

If that were the case, I’d have been bankrupt sometime last year. Builders will choose the most awkward places to have their skips.

there is a road near the A1, edinburgh on way into samuelston that says unsuitable for HGVs. There is a small hump bridge. I looked on the map took alternative route hey presto I found myself going over the bridge from the other side & not a unsuitable sign in sight!!

Went down one on monday. Crow Arch Lane or something like in Ringwood, Hampshire. There is a humpback bridge sign and unsuitable for hgv sign and then a little industrial estate about half a mile past. Was a bit wary of taking DHL’s shiny new merc down there put turned out to be no problem.
