Unofficial road names

Following on from the thread entitled Death Valley.

Are there anymore sections of our road network with unofficial names?

I know of Windy Hill (M62)…named presumably due to the wind blasting across it at all times.

Little House on the Prairie (M62 again)…farmhouse stranded between the carraigeways on the moors(or prairie)

Any more■■?

M42 Road of Dreams.

I may have made that up

Or even dreamt it Luke

M4 to the east of Cardiff (the bit that used to be 2 lanes) is known as the Strawberry Patch to us old timers

Then ther’s the Ski Jump (M4 Eastbound approaching Sarn) and the Water Jump (Thelwall Viaduct).
And of course, let’s not forget the Self Sealing Contraflow System

There’s a farm over to the right as you head West, and it used to have a huge barn with “PYO strawberries” written in giant letters on the roof. Planes coming in to land in Cardiff Airport could see it!

A465, Abergavenny to Merthyr Tydfil = “The Rock”

M62 leading to Liverpool = Road to Hell! :smiling_imp:

Heads of the Valleys

If your using Vaseline for ‘certain activities’ then your doing something very wrong I’m afraid!

A40 Monmouth Gibraltar Tunnel .

the big dipper A14 near j2 (the big hill Westbound with the no overtaking bit, that most people ignore)

The old A74 was always the tartan track for us.
