Your never going to spot them are ya?
Surely that is going quicker then normal. See how quick it was over taking others.

Going that fast i think you would do, anyway iām always a bit suspicious of a fast unmarked unit or rigid (usually white) overtaking me.
it be ironic if some one phoned the police and told them thereās a truck speeding along the a12
Thereās been one operating today on the m6 in staffs a black scania. Lets be careful out there boys and girlsI
just remember, if itās speeding report it to the police, iām sure they would love to catch a speeding truckerā¦
The passenger looks like heās a right old perv!
i love the cracked mirror on the o/s and a car caravan mirror taped to the main mirror unit, hardly high standards is it ?
then there is the question on going over 50mph on the a12 or 60mph on the m25 , it they have such a trot on i guess the spotter will miss left hand drive vehicles if they are going that fast, then without lights or markings are they allowed,
what my betting the no plate will be cloned , and a white merc will be knicking derv from the services,
Cameraman sitting on the bunk, thatās got to be illegal, and no seat beltā¦
Theyāve got some ā ā ā ā ā ā ā cheek, the mirror, the camera man on the bunk and how the hell are they going to look in someones cab at that speed?! Instead of going out for little jollys in that truck perharps they could catch those people that think its a laugh to throw bricks off the bridges along the a12.
Isnāt it illegal for Police to speed ? I know they can go through red lights but AFAIK itās illegal for them to go faster than the speed limit themselves. Might be wrong though.

I thought they could only in emergency with blue lights to alert the public to the danger
but didnāt you know you eating a yorkie and driving is a emergency they need to speed to catch you and the Ā£60 fine for diesel to bomb down the m25 all day in there bob tailed lorry
Just one question what is wrong with them having something like the google car (camera on a stick) same results better MPG
Letās get a close up of that number plate.
Thanks!
Even on blue lights etc they have to slow down at traffic lights. Although they are above the law so no rules apply to them.

Both wrong. Any vehicle (regardless of markings and/or blue lights, siren etc) is exempt from speed limits while being used for police, ambulance, fire brigade etc purposes if keeping to the limit would hinder said purpose. There are similar exemptions from the requirement to stop at red traffic lights and the requirement to observe the directions of āKeep Leftā (or Right) signs - again with no mention of blue lights and/or sirens being required.
As for the camera on a stick question. Such a vehicle would not allow the police officers to see (by use of the Mk1 human eyeball) offences being committed and record video evidence to back up said observation, as required for most offences.

I could be wrong here, but I think itās legal to be sitting without seatbelts in a HGV if your behind the front seats, Iāve explained that terribly, but I think I know what I mean

Can you provide a link to these reguations etc?
This whole approach is a pet hate of mine. You seem more clued in than most, can you enlighten us?

I cannot link to the regs but I have heard the same from many traffic officers over many years so I believe it to be correct
Operational needs - that seems to be the main one I hear
Section 87 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Donāt think thatās correct tbh. When I was on recovery we were told we could only carry the same number of passengers as number of seatbelts we had. Plus, following the logic of sitting behind the driver then surely rear seat passengers in cars would be exempt too?

I thought it was the law regarding HGV only, hence why it is legal for a double manned truck to have one person sleeping in the bunk, not strapped in.
Like I said, I could very easily be wrong though.
