These days Fub, YOU would be able to claim off the car driver for your shock and mental turmoil.
I suffered mental turmoil as a youngster when I dropped my ice cream, but I am ok now.
I was actually told to do that but didn’t bother. As you say nowadays my phone would be red hot with injury claim companies touting for business lol.
Very traumatic event Dave. My thoughts are with you mate.
Ask The Fub to divert any PPI calls he get’s to your number. (Not your ’ other ’ number that you keep putting in the phone boxes).
Ahhhh phone box liaisons. The 80’s version of Grindr. I’m getting a right trip down memory lane.
Cav551 and Bazza123. It’s such a pity you cannot understand plain English then your replies would not look so foolish.
So what are the removals lads etc supposed to do, park 300 yards up the road and wheel someone’s home up and down the muddy verge in the ■■■■■■■ rain.
Deliveries have to happen, unless we happen live in some half wits utopia who thinks everything arrives by canal barge, and the space to live in is shrinking as the population increases by over a 1/3rd of a million every year.
Course there are idiots doing deliveries too, such as the Darwin Awards candidate that parks his van outside the paper shop every morning about 0430 on a very busy road, on the wrong side of the road half on the verge facing uphill leaving his headlights on and then getting papers out of the NS loading door, wearing all dark clothes too, he’s not long for this world and i’m only surprised he hasn’t been cleaned up already, come the inquest i’m going to appear as witness for the poor sod who clobbers him.
Or just maybe, Cav and Bazza have a life. And get on with their daily truck driving life without hurting anyone, or damaging the wagon. And just maybe, some drops are a pain to park near, so you make the best out of a less than ideal situation.
Not all of us get a hard-on for the highway code Albion.

They are meant to plan ahead by making prior arrangements to park and if necessary get police permission.
I do happen to know the problems of delivering having delivered round London’s west end. However I am on about the selfish idiots that do not take anything into consideration apart from there own selfish needs as I said in my original post.

You mean a life like yours on here 24 hours a day? Nine times out of ten as soon as I post you are there with your pathetic comments.
Regarding truck drivers that do park illegally and sometimes dangerously I would imagine it is like most things. There are no police around and luckily there are no accidents because of their stupidity.

Pray what difference would police permission make to the clown in the Golf who’s had to stop for a life changing ten seconds, they aint going to send a plastic bobby out to control the traffic, and the idiot in the Golf will still be there taking the venom of his boring life (a Golf i ask you
) out on some poor bugger trying to do a days work.
What hope the poor sods on parcels with more drops than santa, they’re gunna be on the phone to the old bill getting permission to park all day long.
We’ve all got to rub along together and give and take a bit, the impatient latent heart attack in the Golf will have to leave 5 minutes earlier, just like we’ve all had to leave an hour or more earlier than we did 30/40 years ago to make the same journeys due to traffic.
Albion who cares he had to make the drop.Maybe someone should bring your stuff and drag it 300 yards down the road and see what you say when it gets to your house.
Why are you all missing the point? Are you saying drivers should cause danger when parking? Try to stop being so biased for once and recognise there are clowns out there that do not have a clue and no regard for others safety.
I had plenty aggro when delivering in London but I did not put others at risk. No delivery is worth that.
Car dealer deliveries are a similar swine parked outside the dealer, and where else would/could you park a transporter than needs to be in a straight line, is around 60ft long and needs another 30ft of space to drop the skids and provide some space to get the cars off.
I’ve had people calling me all the names under the sun (city dwellers usually with their heads impaled up their own arses) and actually aiming for me as i’m unstrapping cars on the roadside.
Some dealers in really bad locations rent space off other companies so deliveries can occur in safer circs, even then you’ll find someone who gets the arse cos they’ve had to wait a millisecond for a vehicle coming the other way…
but that option isn’t available to our multi drop lads, who i must say i take me hat off to cos i’ve done it only a few times and its driven me up the wall each and every one, and yes i always try and let parcel and multi drops drivers out if i can.
That’s why I hated multi drop to shops, used to hate causing an obstruction so much I’d drive round and round looking for a convenient space. when I went with other people they used to park in places I wouldn’t have dreamed of. FairPlay to the people who do it, but it wasn’t for me.
What exactly was he ungrateful for?
Challenging the public to fights doesn’t do our image any favours.
Calm down. It’s Friday.
I am sat in my wagon waiting to do my next supermarket delivery. Problem is, other people want to park where I NEED to.
But it’s ok. Because I will get the police to give me an ■■■■■■. Then maybe I could get the FBI over from the USA to help with identifying the culprit’s.
Any problems with the store staff will be short lived. I have a sniper in position outside Poundland. He is disguised as a tramp with a Yorkshire terrier.
Albion…I owe you a drink. You have made my day!
Could we get back on topic please, anyone else had any ice-cream - Grindr adventures. I’ll accept gay rabbit for those on freeview.
Or is this more about doing our jobs vs societies need for us yet dislike for us which can manifest itself in members of the public hurling abuse at us on rare occasions if we’ve held em up for a micro ■■■■■ whilst they are cocooned in the safety of their cars.
Bad parking happens sometimes it’s the only option, we are just more noticeable in our trucks. More inconvenience is inevitable.
I bet it was ironic that the golf driver (a woman’s car at best) visited the shop later that day to purchase one of the items being delivered by the OP. Probably a tampon.
Simply ■■■■ it up, wave apologetically and project a good image of the profession we chose.
I have done some multi drop to corner shops, they are called corner shops for a reason. They need their stock ,but I should not park on a corner.

Exactly right you should not park on a corner because it causes dangers to others especially with observation.
Have you heard of a sack trolley? Ask your TM if you can park on a corner and his answer will not be YES.
Professional drivers should at least know what is right and what is wrong especially if they are going to break the rules.
