Sorry about the mad link. This is a Job advert by the Irish Govts Job service posted by NVD Rosslare.
If you cant be assed to read it they are offering an Internship as a CT Driver! €50 a week on top of your dole for 9 months.
These Internships are everywhere now. Basically Govt funded slave labour to massage the unemployment figures.
Thats enough to make anyone fel depressed, and the govt are going to aske the depressed to prove they are depressed, at least no they will have an excuse before the dole money is cut.
I agree some of these so called on the job training schemes are nothing more than subsidised cheap labour for employers, and as you say they also make the unemployment figures look better than they really are.

i worked for them for a short while they bloody idiots and what i was told they have now lost most of the good drivers they had. 150 euro a week less for new drivers for at least the first six months was enough for me to tell them to get lost.
How can they be offering it as an “internship” if you’ve gotta have a FULL TRUCK LICENSE to get on the damned thing?
Most people will get a licence from their current employer, and use it working for their current employer.
I don’t know of anyone who paid for it all themselves, and then walked straight into a job they didn’t have to start with.
Trying to take advantage of the “fear” - that’s all this is.
