Agencies do what the car trade call a “hook.” Motor trade advertises a top spec car for a silly price which has “just gone” when you ring them about it. They will then tell you what they really have because you’re now interested, probably an overpriced ex courtesy car. Similarly an agency will advertise a great sounding job but once you’ve contacted them they will tell you “it’s gone, but we do have on going work” where their “ex courtesy car” are jobs like removal porter/multi drop food/bed delivery driver (other crap manual handling jobs are available).
As a side, I think the worst jobs are those that say “no timewasters” in the advert.
Wee bit different here in Northern Ireland lads,
majority of agencies are advertising the DUNG jobs that nobody really wants!!!
Although I have seen Allied Bakeries advertising few months ago for drivers to go direct.

That’s usually the definition of agency work everywhere.

Maybe just a carrot to make people think that they’ve got distance work on offer.A bit like years ago when the adds used to say must have good national geographic knowledge and valid passport if/when needed for international work.
Unable to name the company because the job doesn’t exist. Simple.

It is actually prob correct!!!
Allied Bakeries only have daycab DAF/Iveco artics and cover deliveries down into Eire.
You may get “caught out” the odd time and get £100 for a hotel stay etc.[emoji6]
