Umbrella Company's

They keep coming up from time to time on here. Basically they are a con, the people who run these steel your tax contributions which helps screw the country up, Im not keen on paying tax however i would much rather give it to the goverment then to these low life chancers.
The rates are so low they steel your holidays and all your employment rights, bit like Dickensian times.
Don’t fall for there scam, they only exsist because people join them. PAYE is so much better.

Got to agree with you (apart from the PAYE bit) they are parasites of the worst kind. When the tax demands start dropping on the doormats, as they did for IT workers who had a similar scheme, people will wake up and realise they are a huge con.

You don’t give your tax to umbrella companies and they don’t steal it either. They don’t steal your holidays. In fact they don’t do a single thing you claim they do.

This argument doesn’t fit with a 3050 post member…

They steal your pay when they take £27 commission without a BIG letter explaining “We’ll deduct £27 for this, this, and that” rather than a bunch of small print and a payslip that hides the deduction among a tax rebate claimed early for the year.

If your holiday pot is built up from a deduction from pay, rather than an addition to it, then that’s another loss to the bottom line.
Claiming stuff that the HMRC might one day ask you to pay back is the rest of the bottom line loss of umbrella schemes.
