Ulez

As we know the ulez zone is being extended out.
Has anyone else noticed that khan as been announcing free school meals for all in London.
Good way to deflect attention from the zone enlargement.
To be fair though at least he is using some of the money raised for a.good.cause and.not just allowing the funds to be wasted away /disappearing into the system never to be seen again.

What good cause?

Giving everyone in London free school meals.
Better than wasting the money though

I got to buy a new car because of that total Pratt!!

A pal of mine who lives in Bromley has had to buy a new car too.
Ridiculous having to effectively scrap his elderly one he’s owned
for years and it owes him nothing at all…

The parents should be providing for their brats not the tax payer. Plenty of nurses need a pay rise…

Only primary school children.

That kind of Socialist propaganda is not going to go down well on this forum…

He’s only doing that to distract us from the ULEZ project. I don’t trust him at all. Crime rates in London have gone up since his tenure. ULEZ is purely a revenue generating exercise, disguised as a climate change project. Unfortunately it’s also very likely he’ll be our prime minister one day.

So giving kids of rich parents, free school meals,if they’re in state education is a good idea?
Get the parents to look after their own kids

School dinners were bad enough when it was spam fritters and semolina. It was only fit for pig food where most of it ended up.
Now it’s all about enforcing a vegan diet for all.
As for ULEZ the Tory government gave Kahn the power over the stolen Kent and Essex and Surrey etc Boroughs and the Tory government could take it away by repealing the 1964 London Government Act and returning them to where they belong.
The truth is the Tories are onside with Khan’s agenda.
Although ironically the best compromise would be to maintain Khan’s justified crusade against diesels. While lifting the needless draconian measures against petrol engines.
Including providing grants for replacement of diesels with petrol and conversion of diesel engines to petrol and abandoning the 2030 cut off on fossil fuelled ICE.

To be fair a 2007 > petrol motor isn’t exactly new or expensive to buy.Probably cheaper to buy and maintain than a < 2015 diesel.
While the populations of Kahns stolen London Boroughs seem only too happy to be Londoners rather than campaign for repeal of the London Government Act.

Look I don’t agree with the ulez congestions zones etc. Yes something needs to be done about poullution etc.
But the point I was making is at least Kahn is putting some of the money to good use by providing free school meals.
Yes he should /could help the NHS etc .

But at least he isn’t just sitting .on it handing out bonuses or erecting statues etc.
He’s doing something. Which is better than nothing.

Looks like trouble at mill. transport-network.co.uk/ULE … Khan/17923

I noticed some new CAZ signs have gone up less than half a mile from me (Bolton area) with the words ‘Under review’ on them. :open_mouth:

Do you actually believe or trust him to that extent?

This is a man that when confronted with the facts that crime rates are up and therefore London is less safe, he responds with “No, London is still just as safe.”

On a different occasion he was confronted with the fact that knife crime has increased, he responds with something along the lines of “Knife crime is just something we have to live with in London.” Are you ■■■■■■ kidding me?! A more suitable response would have been “I will do everything in my power to stamp out knife crime completely.”

The guy is a complete tool. Even the police don’t respect him.

Signs in Bolton be same as ones near me in Manchester they were put up over a year ago then they put the whole thing on hold. But it will come in eventually

There’s no point complaining about this, except to vent frustration, these schemes are coming in all over the place, Newcastle’s Clean Air Zone kicked in at the end of January. It doesn’t affect cars but truck operators need to run their registrations through the online check site to avoid surprise fines of £50 per day.

Comparing the Newcastle CAZ with ULEZ is comparing apples with oranges. It doesn’t even cover all of Newcastle let alone any annexed parts of the surrounding counties or car users.
The ULEZ argument is more about the principle of London’s local government being imposed where it doesn’t belong.Khans remit should be pushed back to the previous LCC boundary line.He has no mandate in the affected Boroughs.

Well let’s keep him out no.10 at least shall we…
