Would be interesting if you refused to move on given that you already offered legal tender and they refused to take it…
legal tender doesn’t mean what you think it does
Is the park down at The County Hotel in Immingham not open anymore?
Had some bloody good nights in there very regularly around 2005 ish time.
.I’d sooner park there than the overpriced crap hole at Ulceby.
Pity they knocked down the Cross Keys half a mile away, the landlord used to let you park there and the meals were spot on.
(Just on a side note, to the locals down there…I’m surprised they knocked that building down, it had a lot of character, and a lot of history being the pub that the Bomber command boys used in WW2.

For almost £30 in the County Hotel you could get a wife, a kebab and a gallon of the finest ale.

Used to like the County, decent food decent pint,.and in those days the truck park opposite was free…(I think the landlord actually bought the park later on.)
In 2002 when the World Cul was in the Far East and the kick offs were 5 am, the landlord opened the pub for us to watch the games, and gave the drivers free breakfasts, a few of the lads were on pints, but even I resisted …as I was working as soon as when the match finished.
I vividly recall walking back to the park ■■■■■■ off (not ■■■■■■ ) when England got knocked out by Brazil and Ronaldinho’'s lucky goal off a cross
, and ripping my England flag off my truck and England shirt off my seat.
As for the Cross Keys,.the landlady Jan, took a liking to my little girl I regularly took away with me in the hols,.and she was very kind with her.
My little girl Sophie (who is now 24 ) drew her a picture of the pub, which took pride of place hung up behind the bar.
I was really disappointed when I passed a couple of years ago to see the pub had been knocked down.
Immingham was my second home in those days,.shipping in and out of there and weekending regularly…good days, good memories,.despite Immingham its’self leaving a lot to be desired.

The last time I tried to park in there it was full of EE’s having what looked like their weekly rest, washing lines and Sky dishes out and no spaces left

There is a new truckstop being built nearby, towards the docks, on the traffic lights.
Scheduled to be open by October.
Ken.

Not a truck stop!
Just extending and refurbishing what was the old Jet garage.
Most certainly not a truck stop with parking.
They were given the ultimatum of extending it or closing because of the morons who would queue half in and half out of the garage causing an accident waiting to happen.
How nobody has been killed there in recent years is down to pure luck not judgement.
Is that transport cafe just of the motorway still open

If you mean Barneys at Barnetby top on the A18 the answer is yes it’s still there and open.
Anybody remember ‘The Lock Inn’ on the docks?
A very ‘interesting’ pub and clientele.
It resembled the bar in the first ‘Star Wars’ film. …some very strange people drank in there.

Parked there many times waiting for a trailer coming in on DFDS.
There was also one at Killingolme up by the dock called the ■■■■ and Shovel.
Even stranger people frequented that place.
