i agree with loads of companys named, i want to add Piccaso (only naming em cos i saw one today), they got Magnums and Volvos, their motors are wrapped with scenes from films, and are bloody awful, the pictures are bad quality, the motors arent looked after. im sure more companies will pop up in my mind later as there are loads of shabby firms out there.
trailer express or team event depending on which stickers they have on their cabs, premiums and magnums that look like the last time they were washed was when they were for sale,
stuck behind a magnum on the pumps today, when he drove off he left an oil slick the exxon valdez would be proud of!
they may have a relativley new fleet but i dont think they have washed a single trailer or unit (apart from that boy thats got the commeritive xf105 which has been wrapped) in about 3 years!
Wheel Nut:
I think Sainsburys look the shabbiest big fleet, if it isnโt vehicle damage, it is just that they look uncared for, units and trailers, although some of Tescos trailers could do with a refurb.
I think theyโre positively immaculate compared with Gist!
theyve got one worse than that,as of this morning.....was travelling down the a1 about 10 miles north of the m18 at about 0300 when the truck in front suddenly braked and indicated to come off. i thought surely he aint gonna make the corner at the bottom of the slip and sure enough he didnt,up the grass he went โ โ โ โ โ โ โ a fence/sign as he came to a stop.
wonder if he got it off or had to be dragged off
No ulterior motive here - just always think their orange and black wagons look bobbins.
Going back a couple of decades C โ โ โ โ โs of Northampton must have been in the running ?
In 1991 I was working in the office for 3 months at Fed Ex / Matchbox and had the great joy in telling the transport manager of โ โ โ โ โs not to send anymore of their vehicles in for loading unless they had been washed he was not amused butI was because years earlier he had been my transport manager at Swifts and made my life hell
The Scanny Fannies at RCL, Felix. They are in a right โ โ โ โ state.
The worse rigid, has to go to Bradleys finishers in Ipswich, the oldest Volvo Iโve ever seen and driven. No radio cos the Company are big Bible bashers Brethren or somat like that. They try to overload you and donโt give a monkeys

I worked for a firm like that in Nottingham back in the mid-80โs. They were actually pretty decent employers and very supportive when I was going through a bad patch, but must admit the lack of a radio was a bind at times. They werenโt perfect though; I remember them having a hire truck for a while which I went out in one day and had Radio 2 on all day. One of the partners took it out the next couple of days, and when I got it back the following Monday it was tuned to Radio 4. Bet that cost him a few Hail Marys.

I work for Freshlinc and your about right, the trucks are on the go 24/7 with different drivers all the time. You donโt get your own truck or even a regular truck even if your a tramper. The two special anniversary trucks are the only trucks that get the same drivers all the time. They do have a van that comes round and washes the units and trailers that happen to be in the yard but some trucks might wait a long time before they get a wash. Itโs a shame because as you say some of the trucks and trailers are new and nice spec but they just get trashed, it really bugs me to be honest because Iโm used to taking a bit of pride in my truck but there you go. Pays the bills.
