Keeping Putin away from East Ukraine is like keeping Britain away from Poland in the late summer of 1939…

Putin - is the only one in position right now to save East Ukrainian Russians from being butchered by the 2m strong “Civilian-Dressed” DEATH SQUADS trained, and now deployed by Kiev… If these people get to kill East Ukrainian citizens, then the media can say "Putin did that, our satellites picked up no tanks in the area, other than Putin’s just across the border…

Russia’s issues are clear enough being all about NATO moving into its back yard where it moved out.

We have the ultimate deterrent so why do we need conventional forces sabre rattling on Russia’s borders.
We can’t possibly win a conventional war against Russia let alone combined with China.
The west has clearly deliberately provided the initiative to the CCP in the form of massive transfer of wealth resulting in it becoming a military superpower.
What else would explain the free world deliberately wanting to set itself up for such a fall.
As opposed to maintaining a defence policy against Communism based on mutually assured destruction.
Not parking NATO tanks in Russia’s front garden and making Communism great and strong by contributing to its military budget and signing us up to agenda 30.

Ukraine is a red herring.
If NATO doesn’t drop it’s strategy of containment instead of MAD sooner or later Russia will resort to force to make NATO back off from its borders.
Then all bets are off.
That involves an impossible to defend front stretching from the Baltic to the Black Sea and western Europe including UK isn’t immune from attack by air, sea or invasion and Russia will resort to use of nukes to win/
if it starts losing such a fight anyway.
Why would NATO want to risk such a pointless and needless strategy.
Bearing in mind that China would obviously also take advantage of that in the Pacific region and helping with any invasion of Europe.

What NATO are doing in Ukraine - is incredibly reckless.

Putin is now backed into a corner, where he could risk losing power IF he now backs down, as no doubt NATO will bleat about how they got Putin to “walk away like a coward” should he now stand the troops down, without a shot being fired… (Is Putin that daft, that he’d back off, without a deal to get NATO to withdraw from Eastern Europe on the table? - I doubt it!)

So, we await the final “Trigger”…

If Putin sits down with Biden, these Kiev-backed Neo Nazis dressed as either Ukrainian Civilians, or worse - Russian Uniforms - can rush across the East Ukraine, inflict all manner of atrocities on the local population, whilst no western journalist is there to report on it, and should Putin then cross the border to “Aid the Ukrainian Russians” - he’ll not only be accused of breaking any agreement to withdraw, but will no doubt have his forces blamed for the atrocities thus committed already by that point as well.
Such atrocities - are likely to be as high profile as possible, to make Putin look as BAD as possible.
Chemical weapons, bayonetting babies, burning down churches, and slaughtering everyone, women and children alike - is just the start of any bloodbath that won’t be prevented by NATO’s prescence or lack thereof, but will become inevitable if Putin’s troops cannot be there to protect their own ethnic russians from such outrageous “black op” hostilities from what the rest of the world will be told “Are only Ukrainian patriots - protecting their own land in their own country”.

NATO are backing a ■■■■ Revival here, and Putin is the only one close enough with forces enough to STOP that.

If anyone thinks I’m completely wrong, then go and talk to actual residents of Eastern Ukraine - the very ones who voted to re-join Russia, and have since been sidelined by the Media, of course… :unamused:

If I were Putin, I’d do what I’ve been accused of about to do, which is a massive attack on Kiev itself, starting with preventing anyone from leaving. Capture all those western talking heads there right now, and negotiate a better lasting peace with the minimum loss of life by well-targeted military force.

It would effectively be a war of Regime Change that starts and ends in Kiev, and would probably end up with a UN puppet in Kiev, the rest of the country PARTITIONED straight down the river between East and West Ukraine…

Putin - would never win any post-war “Battle of Hearts and Minds” in the West anyways, but he would have consolidated his grip on the entire East of the country.
A hard border then gets set up on the river, and it won’t matter in future if NATO leave or not, as the balance of power has shifted enough to ensure that Kiev don’t get to be the “Tail that wags the Dog” any longer, having lost too much face over mis-managing Putin…

…Then of course, there is the issue of “Does Putin have better, newer tech” and “Funding” to pull all this off…

I can see China funding both sides here, but whilst America finds its funding by selling debt paper to China, Putin makes real hard cash by selling actual physical resources to China…

Who do you think would run out of money first - in any prolonged “Cold War Revival”…?

If NATO doesn’t withdraw it’s military assets from the former WP buffer states surrounding Russia’s western border it’s also probably war.
The fact is Russia didn’t back off from those states for NATO to move in.

Which leaves the question why would the NATO states want a defence policy based on conventional warfare threatening and posturing on Russia’s borders and appeasement and economic support of China.
It doesn’t add up.

To be fair the Falklands wasn’t in the same league as a NATO v Russia conflagration.
The truth is NATO moving in where Gorbachev moved out was never on the table and even Thatcher was bright enough to know it.
By that logic the world was a safer place when it was NATO v WP with a defence policy based on mutually assured destruction not moving the BAOR up to Russia’s borders.
