UK truck bans.

As mentioned on tn.Why does the UK not have bans like in EU.?

why? so that hauliers would have more costs to deal with?

because we are a Island and need the goods that come in to feed the population

Other countries are used more heavily as transit routes, whereas, with the exception of Irish trucks, any truck here is delivering or collecting here and so a ban would simply damage our economy.

What would VOSA men do for overtime then?

Imo, it must have something to to do with the shops being open 24/7.(does any other country in Europe have this) Years ago the the roads were so much less congested at weekends, now driving on a Sunday is no different to a weekday, probably worse actually.
