UK "road tax for foreign hauliers " comes into law

I think when the then EEC only went as Far East as Germany it wasn’t to bad opening it up to the east was the biggest mistake ffs Romania and Bulgaria are third world country’s and half of Eastern Europe is basically a giant diddy coy site.
I think if the eu big wigs had there way they would have turkey in too. Only thing that will stop it I imagine is pressure from the Americans with turkey been a Muslim nation

But notwithstanding those issues the EU the East Euro extension still shouldn’t be having the effect which it’s having on the west euro haulage fleets and work situation between those member states.Which is caused by using flagged out transport services doing third country haulage. In just the same way that,so far,the admission of Mexico, into NAFTA,hasn’t had any effect,as you say,on USA-Canada traffic operations.IE if it goes from Britain to France,Italy,Germany,or Spain and vice versa then it should either go on a truck from those respective countries or a British one not an east european one.In just the same way that if it’s a load from Canada to USA and vice versa it goes either on a US truck or a Canadian truck not a Mexican one. :bulb:

No surprise though that the British government doesn’t want that scenario for obvious reasons related to it’s anti domestic long haul road transport industry agenda.Unlike Canada. :bulb:

As for Turkey I think the US ( wrongly ) views the place as a strong ally and wants it in the EU while not realising that it’s population is mostly Asian muslim based with unreliable loyalties. When the fact is it’s Israel which is the place to keep armed to the teeth and support to the point where it has the power to keep the whole region, including Turkey,in line.Unfortunately Obama doesn’t see it that way. :unamused:

Totally agree on the third part thing that’s the problem for western euro company’s
I think the Jews still hold to much clout in America to allow it and the us to go anti Israel

About time! So british hauliers can expect a reduction in road tax or fuel duty?

Think not just more money for the “government” to pay out “600 million in bonuses” to bankers who made a 5 thousand million loss in a bank that is owned by folk like me and thee.

Dont you just love “democracy”
