164 doors in total I think ?
Ryton? - That sounds suspiciously close to the now defunct CityLink hub.
“Gap in the market ancitipated” perhaps?

Quite correct, they have outgrown the main Hub, and the HS2 is planned for there, so they have taken advantage of the situation.
SWEDISH BLUE:
Did I not read that UK Mail were getting rid of UK Pallets
Lichfield-based UK Pallets is to close, its parent company UK Mail Group blaming years of “underperformance”, with pallet network Pall-Ex offering assistance to the 73 hauliers - as well as customers - affected by the closure.
UK Mail’s pallets business was the smallest part of the Group, earning £13.9m (5.3%) in revenue in the first half of 2014. The operation had been suffering from challenges and reduced profitability in recent years thanks to increased network costs, with profit in the first half of last year down 58.6% year-on-year to £200,000.
In a statement, it said after considering all options for the business, a proposal was made to close it. The firm said the closure of the “non-core” business would have no impacts on its core parcels, mail and courier operations.
“This process will be managed over some three months, ensuring that all employees and cutomers are properly supported,” UK Mail said. “It is hoped that a number of employees would be able to take up alternative roles within UK Mail.”
The company said it was expecting the closure to cost it £1m, with an asset write-down of around £2m. UK Pallets has a staff of 120.
