the rest of europe. well most of them have truck bans.
well how come we don’t?
i think we should have an absolute truck ban for the first two weeks in August.
and when i say absolute, i mean no loopholes at all. no fridges, no printed material, no waste carriers,no tankers, NOTHING.
if we lobby the green brigade with this one, they will think it’s great and do all the lobbying to mp’s to make it happen.
there’s no point in us lobbying the goverment, because they don’t listen to us.
we can all stand on motorway bridges watching the idiots who expect to fill up with fuel, find out it dosn’t get delivered by leprechaun rail freight. we can also watch blokes in suits going out in the early morning checking their snares to see if they can have some fresh rabbit for dinner, as there won’t be any meat on the supermarket shelves. but that won’t matter because he will have no fuel to get him there anyway.
but think of the rates before the ban, they will be massive, due to panic buying. and they will be massive after the ban due to restocking.
what a boost for the haulage industry, but [zb] the rest of them.
would be a right laugh…we only stopped for a week last time & nearly bought the country to a stand still… would also ground the planes so no hol’s for em!! … you’d be amazed how many people i’ve told we deliver the aviation fuel, just give you that look ( didn’t realise that )
hauliers will not stick together and would take advantage of the situation by stealing work
the government were caught with their trousers down in 2000 which is why we are now essential workers when it suits them. if we go on strike, we are holding the country to ransom and therefore come up against terrorist laws. they know ■■■■ well just how crucial we are to the countries in the UK
the mobile fuel protests last year were largely cut down because VOSA threatened to revoke O licences. they may do the same with driving licences as our entitlement to a professional category lies with maintaining a good repute, similiarly to the O licence which means we do not need points to have it taken away
i absolutely support anything that would help our industry in principle but in practice, the government would never allow a major disruption again and have threats in place to prevent a repeat of 2000
