It’ll never happen. Manufacturers have spend far too much money on hands free kits for cars and trucks etc. Also, it seems that you’ll get done for it if you had an accident and the phone call was to blame regardless of if you were using hands free or not.
Ya wanna bet? Wheels are already in motion.
How so? Just because a bunch of MP’s who are claimed to be “influential” have asked the government to consider plans doesn’t mean its going to happen.
This has been in the pipeline for some time now. Its just a matter of time but for sure it won’t be so long now.

I can see this happening, not that I believe phone calls are the big problem. It’s people getting drawn into the distractions & temptations smart phones bring; notifications, texts, social media, music etc.
The scale of illegal phone use is so massive now we will never have the police numbers to enforce the law effectively. Therefore, the only feasible way to enforce the use of the phones is to bring in a draconian black & white zero tolerance “no phone use in any capacity whilst driving” rule, then farm the job of enforcement out to technology & cameras that can detect phone signals etc. and expect people to stick their phone in the glove box on airplane mode.
Good luck getting parked in laybys when this comes in folks, they will be full of car drivers on the phone.
But if it does I can’t wait. As when ever office ring me and I’m driving round the m60 or m25 etc.
I’ll take great pleasure in driving.about 30 miles to the nearest services where I can then stop safely and.phone them back.
And.this maybe will result in companies being more organised telling us what we’re doing all.day then leaving use alone
Love the way some of you are loving the sledgehammer to crack a nut scheme of a blanket ban…for the sole reason that ‘‘They don’t have to take calls from their boss’’ ffs.
Why not just do what I do and …Don’t answer the ■■■■ phone’'!!
Then at least you can still take personal calls with no ban.
