two man mode

did my first two man drive on analouge tacho and both of us had not done the mode switch before
put driver 1 (me )on drive and driver 2 on break
all was fine driver 1 drive driver 2 went to poa

changed driver and swapped the modes
got to the drop and swapped the modes
when back at the depot we took out charts and it showed that i had been driving 13 hours and he had done poa and break all day

is it normall for it to default to driver 1

of course we put them down as errors

you have to change the card as well, not just the mode.
when its time to change over drivers, open the tacho and swap discs as well

is that the same for digi-tach as well

yep first time that the company i worked did that we did the same thing, just take a copy of the other guys tacho and keep it with you, then you should be fine i think.

after 5 weeks dump it lol

so bigusdickus are you sure that on an analogue that you have to physically change the disc…i thought thats the reason why why there is a double sided flap to put 2 chartsin

Yes you definately have to change the discs over, as there is only one speed trace that obviously needs to show on the drivers disc

i’ve told you the cure, you have the proof in the two discs you’ve got.
dont know about digi tacho as i’ve never used one.

digi and analouge you have to change them over, probably the only time you can remove the card and put it back in while doing still staying in the vehicle.

so in order for me to understand this
why do you put 2 discs in an analouge tacho one o the top and one on the bottom

each time you eject the discs your creating an error
so when disc 1 is removed to make way for disc 2 you eject then swap discs
so what is the point of having 2 man mode switch when all you do is eject …beats me

so the other driver can have his working time recorded or break.

ahh thanks gogzy now its starting to sink in…its shows how stupid we both were putting discs on top of each other.

Still it didnot go down well when we got back to depot and my trace showed all that driving

what would i say if i get pulled it was an honest error thinking them buttons are there to stop you from ejecting the discs

yeah as has been said def have to swap the charts so driver 2 becomes driver 1 and vice versa, even on the analouge ones that have a digi interface.

Same goes for digi cards as well just when it says “24 hour day” select no - well thats what i do.

Fill in trace on back of tacho. With a small explanation. If it happens with digital perform a manual entry .Take a printout write explanation at the bottom. When you get an infringment notice off your company keep it with you for a month to show if you get a pull.

so pecjam for the digi tacho driver 1 and 2 also have to physically take each of their respective cards out of their slots and swap them over…not very advanced that

thats what i thought, but thats what you have todo or if VOSA pull you and driver 2 is driving on driver 1 card by accident i dont know what they would say

driver one is the only one that recoreds driving the driver two is for POA or other work and rest, it does not trace for driving you most swap over the cards every time you change drivers

yes that is right. When the truck is moving, the card in the second drivers slot will record nothing but POA, no matter what. Seems a bit daft to me that as driver 2 could be doing paperwork, reading the map or whatever else whilst the truck’s moving which should be recorded as other work, but its not possible to do that.

also when changing cards over, be sure to complete a manual entry for both drivers to account for the few minutes between pulling the cards and swapping them around. it will pull up an ‘advisory’ on your infringement sheets otherwise.
