Sat watching the news and they are going on about Twinings from Andover moving out to a big new place in Poland…interviewee was saying that the Polish workers will be taking home less in a month than he clears in a week. No wonder this place is up that famous creek…we get the Poles, they get our work. Me thinks that in 20 years time, this place will be just one, great big Polish dole queue. Then i saw the piece that they want to put 20% vat on our holidays…this place ■■■■■. Any work in Canada or Oz
I quite like that Volvo XXL that is a regular ride for someone on here (sorry, forget yr name
)
Twinings is on the list of banned substances in our house along with anything by Cadburys or Dyson, sure to be more to follow

Me too mate, HP sauce is a thing of the past in this house too.
Years ago I used to load garments in Tangiers & take them to the parent factory in the centre of Ludlow. It had been there for years the boss had a big Victorian house on site & the factory & family were part of Ludlow history. The workers had a subsidized canteen with an excellent staff, the car park was full of late model cars, all on tick, the future was rosy. Until one day I delivered & got a back load to Tangiers - a full load of the factories sewing machines! Within a month the whole place was closed down except for the house. They had moved key management & skilled workers to Maroc & the Marocs had the jobs… & then they moved to Poland.
They are also closing their plant at North Shields with a lot of job losses.

Sorry but WTF is funny about that?
They thought Maroc was cheap but within the space of a few months they found out that Poland was even cheaper --■■■■■■ hilarious!!
PS. I have relocated to Thailand because its cheaper -but I will be checking out Poland in the Summer.
HP supposedly moved to Holland where Heinz is based.

So I’m not the only one doing this.Family looked at me as if I had a second head when I announced the list of banned goods.Have two German Shepherds so would love a Dyson but will happily cope with dog hair out of principle.Total ban on “Made in China”,very difficult but it can be achieved.Any Canadian guys reading this, forget Levis made in Thailand or Wrangler from Mexico,Dakota jeans from MWW are made in Canada, and just as good.
IMO it’s getting rather worrying EVERYTHING is starting to be made or part made in ■■■■■ land
Hell even Swiss quartz movements are sometimes assembled in Thailand and I know Breitling have apparently their watch cases rough finished in China even SAK Swiss army knives are being made in China now as Wenger or Victorinox moved out and good old Stanley Vacuum flasks are out there now!
I’ve had a buy British policy for decades now as this bull started seriously 20+ years ago.
LOL and don’t buy Pears hand wash as they can’t spell and it’s made in India!

The irony of this website is that we are viewing it on Chinese and Taiwanese computers whilst sat on Romanian or Bulgarian furniture bought from Argos. The website was last updated in December 2010, how many companies have moved to the far east since that date?
I am sat about 4 miles away from one of the most iconic names in British motorcycle manufacture, yet they do not get a mention on this site
With respect to Dyson, he choose to locate some of his capacity overseas only after several atempts to expand his operations in Wiltshire were defeated by the planners egged-on by NIMBY locals.
Perhaps these short-sighted, self interested types will have a different view when their daughter’s boyfriends get their beer money from the dole instead of Mr Dyson?
They are saying tonight that ship loads of Poles are now returning home to find work as there is more work available…yea…our ■■■■■■■ work!! Kind of 'em to flood our market with workers, screw the country up then bugger off back home. I’ll retract the comment about this country and it’s Polish Dole queue…it’ll be full of honest,(ex) hard working Brits like me and you. Should’ve kept the Euro door firmly bolted…to poxy late now. I read a story on a local paper’s website about a Pakistani who was caught ‘clocking’ motors and selling them on…it said (copy of actual text) The married father-of-two, who left the Pakistani army in 2001 to move to the UK with his wife to have their children.WTF…have 'em in your own country. People come here from all over the world , to stay and take the ■■■■ and it’s time this ■■■■ stopped…try getting in to Oz with a packet of Raisins

I know what you’re saying but whenever I hear that a company is taking production away from the country that it began in then I get a mental block on ever buying it again.
And It’s only January 2011 so the list should be up to date?
Dont forget Terry’s chocolate orange, was made in York, now made in Poland
Least some of our foods are safe like Melton Mowbray pork pies, Stilton cheese manufacturers can see the rest all moving abroad!
