tv in truck

Right then, ive decided that I dont want a 3g dongle for me laptop but am going to buy a digital tv for in my cab so my next question is which aerial is best on a budget. Was thinking of a smallish one I could mag mount on the roof.Any idea`s please.

ive just bought a indoor antenna from argos called philex only cheap meant to be good, will soon find out on sunday, i no most peeps use a outdoor antenna and fix it to a pole or wing mirror bracket, dont be misled over digital antenna’s its a con, also if you were looking for a different solution you can but a satelite in a suitcase which usually comes with a small dish at 35cm, apparently once you suss out to use it get a perfect picture and more channels to watch you can pick up the whole kit fo about 79 quid at maplin

look at some of the aerials on offer “exclusive” for truckers, find one you like then go to a caravan shop and buy it at half the price as the caravan community don’t seem to get ripped off like we do :imp:

as for a tv its cheaper to buy an inverter and a domestic 240v tv rather than a specialist 12v or 24v tv

here’s mine

was 109.99 in tesco with built in dvd and digical thingy

i bought the avtex sth1000 areial on someone else’s advice it has been really good so far and i got it a bit cheaper

I’ve got a thumb sized digi-tv stick - plugs into the laptop and gets all the freeview channels - came with a aerial which works just fine. (£20 ish)

if i cant get a pic on my digital tv i use this on my laptop tvcatchup.com/

here’s mine,a goodmans 15" from comet just over £100 & it’s 12 volt so ive wired it straight to 12 volt wire which i have for cb.go into comet & look at side of telly & most 19" & under are usually 12 volt input.
