Anyone have any info about the contract at all? Scouting the threads there doesn’t seem to be many great things said about Turners but I am keen to have a go on tanker work and they seem to take on newbies. Thanks!

I wouldn’t think the pay be any good but it will get you some experience
Cant comment on your specific contract, but I worked for Turners for 3 years, on the milk. That was however a stand alone operation, and the terms and conditions were good (good hourly rate, domestic rule hours). A different contract nearby, on the cement bulk tankers, was quite frankly shocking. They were paid by the job, and badly at that. Taking breaks whilst tipping was necessary to get a second run in, or you’d be looking at £55 take home for the day…
When Gregory took over the milk contract, we were offered a transfer to the cement contract… when I (and the other drivers) was given the lowdown, I just ripped up the paper, and walked out laughing.
No personal experience, but I was on a CPC course a while back with a Turners driver and he reckoned he ran bent EVERY DAY. In this day and age you wouldn’t think it was possible - or necessary - but he seemed like a genuine bloke and had no need to make something like that up.
