Im on for Turners at the mo…In the SE of UK. Tankers.
Good crew, happy drivers and a good mix of units and trailers, every day a learning day.
Turners don`t seem so PC and ‘uptight’ about everything just yet…I love working for them.
Good money too…But I am on a self employed basis through an agency.

Nice to see someone happy for a change good on you

I’ve worked for Turners on agency in the past and never found them too bad, some of the wagons left a bit to be desired but these days they seem to have got rid of the real crap. A couple of months ago I had the teddy in hand ready to throw out, so to speak, rang them up about a couple of jobs they had going at Exning, on being told the money I put teddy carefully back in bed…Better than the dole though :grimacing:

I think the European powder tank job was bringing sugar in from France, into Nestle and a couple of Ice Cream factories. I was tempted myself once. Trucky Bob did the same job for Solstor iirc

I wouldn’t mind having a crack at the france job, does anyone know what they pay?

Not sure about the euro work or the tanks but was chatting to a driver pulling a fridge out Spalding depot and he was on the shocking amount of £6.12 p/h!

i sent a application form in to them the other day, if i got a interview out of it i would have to ring and find out what they are paying before i went to the interview, i couldnt afford to work for £6.12 p/h or anything like it

I got through on the phone and the woman said the wage was related to work done, she couldn’t give me an hourly rate. She did say it was about £450 take home, I hope thats not including night out money! My brother knows someone who works out of worksop on nights and gets just under £400pw, don’t know what the hours are for this though.

oooops  double entry.

I’ve done a couple of shifts for Turners out of their Castleford depot. The weekly drivers form is huge with every possible piece of info they could require. Takes you longer to fill the form in than do the drop!

JD the wage rates are not the best, the equipment is not the best, but the work is steady.

And they’ve tarted the yard up so you’re not ploughing through crap, and filthy before you’ve even left the yard.
