Clever temp bloke at ours when he filled up had a mate meet him and filled the car as well. Wasn’t so clever when the bosses wife was also filling up her Rangey at the same time.

We do not like it when the fuel is stolen from the tank at night when we sleep in lay bys.
They break the fuel cap.Or spike the tank. But the posts on here are supporting the driver stealing 50 litres from his boss and that is ok.
Would you employ the driver i saw.?It was in a large truckstop that is not manned on sundays and has cctv.
I had 400 litres stolen once. But that is ok.We have to give and take and share things like we did at school.
So your 100% sure he was stealing it? He wasn’t filling a drum for a forklift or company car. ?
Sorry but would the boss not like to make the decision and even if it is innocent he can say it’s ok I know

None of your business, just concentrate on your own job. He might not have been a thief, his boss might be the thief and the driver is just paying himself what he is owed but even if he is stealing then its still none of your business until someone else makes it your business.
I got grassed up for wearing flip flops last weekpathetic.

Nosy Parkers, grasses and busybodies. That’s what we’re dealing with here. Do you not know how to get on with your own lives and leave people to theirs?
So what if somebody is filling a drum with diesel? Just because it looks wrong to you, doesn’t mean it is. It’s not the same as someone banging a spike into a tank, for example.
What if the vehicle had no phone number on the side? How would you slake your thirst for justice then, whip the fuel card out of the guy’s hand before he got a chance to use it? Phone the Police?
Nine times out of ten you’d get no thanks for it anyway, you have no idea of the relationships and understandings people have with each other.
If you really want to make a stand against theft, don’t work for firms that expect eighty hours plus per week, that’s theft of life, something you can never get back.
Too many nosey bleeders in all walks of life.

To shytalk,Scanner and all the others who condone theft. For a minuet put yourself in the position of one of these employers would you be quite happy to have your drivers steal from you.No wonder there is high crime rates when so many have attitudes like you. Eddie.
In 2009 i got the most MPG overall on our big fleet of vehicels.
our company posted up a few pics taken from cctv showing guys filling containers and cars .not from our depot tho .needless to say they dont work for us anymore .

No one has condoned theft. Someone has been seen filling up a 25l container thats all. Doesnt mean hes stealing does it?

Especially when he was doing it in full view of a CCTV camera. I have done it myself when I had a generator on my chassis or when I needed some fuel for the space heater, steam boiler or steam cleaner. The difference with my setup was that there was a bracket built behind the headboard to hold a couple of drums because I didn’t want it in my cab.

Cherry can be hard to find if you don’t live in Much-■■■■■■-In-The-Marsh or some other backwater. Not much good if you’re working in London, for example.

It doesn’t matter if its a national firm (that everyone assumes can take the loss) or If it’s a small operator with 5 trucks. Theft is theft.
If there’s a genuine reason for it what have you lost by contacting the company?
+1

You’ll find most truck owners cars are actually company cars that us drivers pay for. Just another perk of being a boss.

Lets put it another way: Say in this case we had the facts and it was indeed theft should everyone still turn a blind eye?

Funnist Thing I have ever read… The Boss has a nice car ““cos of all the graft you do””. Stop Talking ■■■■■■■■. The Boss Has a nice car cos of all the hard work, risks, sleepness nights, dedication he has put into making a successful business.
