These red trucks Robert, they are simliar but look like Leyland cabs…the MERT one on the right, is that a ■■■■■■■ badge in the middle?

This is deffo a Leyland cab, despite claiming hisself a VOLVO!!!
Come to think of it…maybe not Leyland but a half Ford Cargo/Leyland grille/front!!! Ford Cargo doors, Reiver front?

Hi Gazzer,

Design ist von Pininfarina, BMC Yavuz wurde mit Volvo Motoren ausgestattet, später die BMC Fatih mit ■■■■■■■■ Hat mit Ford oder Leyland nichts gemeinsam.

Yes that’s right: the Fatih lorries had ■■■■■■■ engines and the Yavuz ones had Volvos in. Otosan were Fords if I remember rightly, and Genoto were Bedfords; Desoto were Dodge, I think, or GM. Robert

EDIT: just remembered that Otoyol were Fiats!

Sorry Orientmack! I see you’ve already answered the question. Cheers! Robert

In Genoto Bedford>>> Mercedes and Vauxhall engine

In Dodge, De Soto, Fargo Chrysler group (Askam in Turkey) was perkins engine

Going back a few years, I once saw a Turk registered Volvo F86 with a Gardner badge on the grille on the Harem parking lot.

bestbooties: A trophy from an abandoned Atki I expect LOL!

orientmack: Schonen dank!

Quite possible, but I think back then the Turks were good at building a truck that was a “Bitsa”. (Bits of this and bits of that).

Hi Guys
Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year to you all.

Here are a few that I have in my collection.

GS

More Turkish Tat. At least with holiday photos like these all the relatives do not want to see them.

When are ‘tonkas’ like Russian dolls? When they look like this:

And did you know that there was at least one ERF ‘tonka’ in Turkey:

Robert.

Hi

For them thats interested the Man and The bedford you will notice they have a trailing rear axle these were fitted in Turkey by a company call Guvan the axles were designed so the truck could carry more weight but they forgot to put brakes on the axle if you had ever driven in Turkey they go slowly up hill and slowly down ,because of the lack of brakes. I have even passed one on Tarsus going up the Mountain in reverse gear as this is lower than first ,hats off to the Tonka driver .
