Well I managed to get a trunking position at my place now
I think I could manage with Hounslow - Honeybourne - Bagington - Hounslow :sunglasses:

Trunkers mostly go up and down the motorways doing primary haulage in the largest trucks.Lots of night shifts and no crawling about in town traffic.

I didn’t know we’d gone into the logging game mate, and I was at home asleep in bed by 6am this morning :frowning: think I might have text u that thinking bout it

trunking (to me anyway) puts me in mind of parcel delivery firms like nightfreight etc - taking trailers full of parcels from their main hubs to the depots and vice versa. same route every day, usually at night.

IMO trunking means mainly using trunk roads for your route. nine times out of ten it will be done at night and will be the same route every night from depot to hub and back.

some people find it mind numbingly boring but others think its the best job in the world, each to thier own. i did it for a week and it bored the pants off me but it got me a foot on the ladder with the agency.

its a good way of learning the ropes when you first pass your test and if in an artic your reversing on bays will improve so much. its easy work as there is virtually no traffic when you are driving back but messes up your sleep pattern for when you are off.

Yeah, you did text me, just wish I could finish that early as its hit and miss whether the gates to my last drop are open at that time, so to play safe I park around the corner until 06:45 when I know they’ll be opened…

To me it means I wont be going to Wembley much longer :grimacing:

spill the beans then? why not?

I think there are a lot of Poles doing it now.

Some of the British drivers I have seen are planks too

Because I’ll be doing a trunk route soon…
Its even been specially tailored for me - I want a few extra hours than the basic 8 so they’ve changed the run
