Truckstop take away ban

It’s all well banning food deliveries but what if a driver wants something to eat that the truckstop doesn’t have on the menu? a curry or Chinese meal for example.

I quite fancy foie gras on toast tonight, followed by cabrito assado, and like Mrs Spica I often like profiteroles as a d esert youtube.com/watch?v=jv9sDn_2XkI.

I know places like the stockyard do a decent cavery, however my limited experience of truckstop food usually consisted of stuff that they’d pulled out the freezer and throw in a microwave and served with chips etc.

His place, his rules.

Your experience of truckstop food is par for the course, The Stockyard was decent but I’ve not been in for a few years, besides that I can’t think of any that are actually “good”, most are dismal.

Not a single one in the UK could hold a candle to a Routier anyway.

I’m sure a lot will have seen it on facey! A truckstop has banned you from eating a take away in your cab and your only options to eat on site are to self cater or use their cafe.

I think it’s bonkers and it certainly wouldn’t stop me getting a take away if that’s what I wanted.

But it’s surprised me just how many support him / don’t have a problem with it.

Thoughts?

I was a persistent offender with this practice at that cratered t-stop a few hundred yards from the Hollies. The formica table clothed ambience, cacophonous tv blaring, fried veg-oiled excressences masquerading as food stuff swiftly had me getting my King-Prawn-Pathias delivered truck side if l had the misfortune of ending up there for the night.Dare say that’s been addressed if its still operational ?
