I went to the Truckstar show in 2002 and I think it was easily the Best show I’ve ever been to! Its based at the Assen circuit and It took me over 4 hours just to do one lap, just looking at the amazing line up of wagons. It was a blindingly hot weekend in the 30s and they had tippers and skips filled to the brim with water and no one complained when you were ‘attacked’ with water pistols or buckets of water! It was such a laid back show that it made Truckfest look so regimented in comparison.I went up in a 500 tonne cranes cradle to take panoramic shots of the show. Both sides of the track were filled with trucks. The standard was on a par with any show i’ve been to in the UK and I’ve been to every Truckfest at Peterborough and a few local shows around the country. It was part of a planned trip through Holland,Germany and Denmark and we didn’t pre book for camping. We just turned up and got a pitch on the saturday,no problem.I can’t remember the cost of the campsite but I know it wasn’t as dear as the Truckfest but it didn’t include admission to the show.Go and enjoy it as I did and you’ll never look at a British show in the same light.

I asked my mate to translate it, this is what he had to say…

Just parts of it like tickets etc. you can I guess.
But the most important part I read was that you can’t attend with truck
anymore.
You had to book before the 9th of Jan. iirc. But you can visit and the
ticketcosts
are in the site.
The first column gives the prices at the cashier on the circuit and the
second
one are the prices when you book in advance.

Bear, or anybody else at that! This is handy http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr
You can translate here, only blocks of 150 words, but its pretty good.

I just thought though, since I dont speak any other language it might be like the Hungarian phrasebook on Monty Python!  Anyone remember that?

Mal.

I got the wife to get onto P+O north sea ferries (or whatever their name is now)
Inside 4 berth cabin with bog/shower (cabins with a sea view are more expensive) 2 adults, 2 kids return with dinner & breakfast on each journey = £460 :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
Needless to say we shall not be attending Truckstar !

i,ll have to eat humble pie and go to truckfest instead then
