Trucks blamed for snow hold ups

I saw the report in one of the truck magazines that it is our fault and we should have waited 24 hours, the car drivers are annoyed with our jackniffed trailers blocking the road and trucks loosing traction delaying their journey.

■■■■ the moaning ■■■■■■■■ they would moan if groceries werent in shops to buy or appliances they need ya damned if ya do and damned if ya dont

i think that every truck should just park up for 24hrs system worried cos there isn’t the capacity in trains to cope so the system would be paralysed for a little bit — but then again you always get at least one scab) this really would get the then they might just see that they be needing our services — things we don’t need cars, humans in cars, human broadcasters in cars spouting total tosh…

Meanwhile in the real world…

Everyone blames everyone else, it’s never their fault! last night was horrendous in the North West, I was involved with it, right from my journey into work and at work.
We on this little island of ours don’t have our vehicles geared up for weather like last night, we don’t use studded tyres, snow chains etc. every winter and for a good chunk of the winter, we only get weather as bad as this now and again. Our tyres aren’t designed to grip in snow, rain we’re pretty good at (we get enough of it!) Also the average British driver isn’t used to driving in very bad conditions either so hasn’t got a clue how to.
Don’t get wound up about it guys, if you were stuck in that last night, you were on a looser from the word go, too much snow in such a short time.

Stay lucky out there.

Makes you laugh .we do shop delivery work including the villages etc, and as soon as we get a bit of snow I suppose these leave it 24 hours brigade are the 1st to go out and panic buy.last week doing deliveries you be amazed how many shops turned round and said thank god your here we,ve totally sold it. You can’t win sometimes

A friend of my girlfriends rang up yesterday and said she was on a bridge over the m6 and could see all the trucks knife jacking. The picture she posted on facebook showed trucks stuck, not only does she not know the word ‘jackknife’ but also hasn’t got a clue what it means !

according to the media every stuck or crashed truck is “jack-knifed”.

What about all the tossers doing the school run in cars. Why don’t they leave car at home and walk?

What’s going on in the real world, i am still in tobys

I delivered into Middleton Friday and saw a Sainsbury’s motor stuck on the hill going back out to the M62. According to the other ‘drivers’ he had jackknifed! Errm no, he’d stopped and tried to get going again and unit had slid across the carriageway.
Anyone else realise how poor these fancy auto select boxes are in snow without a clutch? Dreadful things in the wet but snow?
