Truly a vision!
Before I say what a great night I had I have to deny setting off the fire alarm. I reckon it was AMBlezard satisfying her fetish for firemen, but yes I did potentially save jammys life so I am a real life hero now
And it wasn’t me snoring cos I dont, if I did I’m sure I’d have heard myself by now, despite what Mrs5l says.

The beer flowed and the diesel fumes chocked the air as we realised that we knew each other very well despite the fact we had never met.
exactly what I said to the mrs when I got home. ( she dont like being called the Mrs )
I had a super night so thanks to Riki and Lucy for arranging it all. And to everyone else for making the night so good.
Kate and I only wish we could have been there but 4 hours in a car here, 3 hours waiting at JFK, 8 hours on a plane, 2 hours at Heathrow, 2 hours driving to the party, then going through it all again in reverse did not appeal to us
well you’d have thought you could have made a bit of effort, I had to drive 2 hours from Bradford

I’d like to point out that it wasn’t just me that contributed to the Rikki getting his kit off fund. The cash went to a good cause & I had the shirt off Rikki’s back, I feel I got value for money out of it. I’m now sitting hear wearing one of the 3 TrucknetUK T-Shirt’s that are in existence
. It was a good night, I had a “smashing” time in fact
:shock::oops:. (Sorry Dapper).
How are you feeling this morning Lib?
The head’s ok, it’s was the stomach that was doing somersaults . A lot better now, thanks.
i,m in the chat room for about 20 mins if anyones free.
it was great to put some faces to names and meet some ive not seen since last year. hopefully evenmore will turn up next year and ill need to get a new brain as my name recolection useless. sorry to those that i forgot
dapper congrats on passing your test and hope you find a good job soon
A special thanks to Barry Tozer and truckersworld ( sorry if the names spelt wrong) for part funding the bar and helping us get rikki to his (ahem happy place)
. David 5l thanks for waking everyone up by setting the fire alarm off
at the hotel. Ive got some pics ill post as soon as i can get them off my camera. it was an exellent night as said earlier 131 pounds was raised for justice for drivers. followed by a greasey fry up at the hollies this morning and took very nearly took over the place a grat ending to a great night
was a very good night, many thanks to Rikki & Lucy and everyone eles who turned up it was nice to put names to faces and meet some old freinds
thanks to all those who donated money to jfd, my daughter manager to conn me out of sevral pounds
congrats to dapper on passing your class 1
also congrats to sam & steve (well done at last)
good breakfast meeting at the hollies
heres some pics dapper with some champpers
A great time was had by all
even though some of us found it a bit chilly towards the end of the evening
Many thanks to Biggus who either felt sorry for me or the sight of my ghostly white flesh was putting him of his beer and donated me his spare T shirt
Dapper was pleased to be presented with a bottle of Moet champagne to celebrate her passing her class 1… I dont think she was so pleased when we all promptly drank the contents
The Vasey family was there in force, and we were delighted that the impromtu auction raised a fantastic amount of money for Justice For Drivers
And thanks to Lucy for unknowingly donating her TruckNet T shirt to the auction
Henrys Cat and SamB thrilled everyone with the news of a impending addition to their family so of course we had to raise a glass or two to celebrate
The rest of the nights debauchery to be honest are somewhat hazy… always the sign of a great night
Just arrived home and what happened-----------phone rings---------urgent call out, even though I told them I would not be available but only short one so I did it
There is nothing I can really add to above except to add our appreciation to Liberace for donating £40.00 to JfD for a clock, but only if he could have Lucy’s T-shirt (which Rikki was wearing at the time) which he gladly did but only if everybody put their loose change on top of Liberace’s £40.00.
This raised another £30 odd
Another clock went for £25 and NO ONE could escape Danni with the key rings
All in all £132.33 was raised for JfD, another clock was ordered so there is more to come in
Thank you one and all
Congrats to Dapper and of course Henry’s cat and Sam
By the way the fire alarm at the hotel went off at 03.25hrs
thank you very much
and a special thanks to Lucy and Rikki not only for last night but for all the help and support over the last 2 years
Dapper and I got home safely. I dropped her off at about 4:30, ish.
Thanks to everyone who turned up it was another great night. I now have a few more faces to put to names (hopefully, my memory for names is rubbish ).
To those who didn’t make it
. Try harder next time.
What more is there to add? It was great to catch up with everyone, and put more names to faces…and well worth the sacrifice of my TNUK shirt to see Rikki shivering, and watch the dawning realisation that he had nothing left to drive home in the following day…
(Steve, you’re a spoilsport…
)
Oh and Jammymutt, you oversized Scottish specimen you…I believe the next round in Newark is on YOU!!!
Lucy:
Oh and Jammymutt, you oversized Scottish specimen you
Oi Oi how would she know that?
Oh I’ve just realised it must have been while she was on the floor in a drunken stupour, & he was wearing his kilt was he not?
Got back at about 5.30 after having a slow drive back, what a brilliant evening!!!
It is great to put faces to the names you see on here, although I must admit there were a few surprises. You get a mental image of people from reading their posts and usernames and sometimes the reality is totally different to what you expect.
My thanks to Rikki and lucy for making a newbie feel so welcome (and everyone else for that matter) and a big thankyou to Tnet and Barry of truckersworld for donating a few beer tokens for us all.
I’ve learned so much more about justice for drivers from last night as well. unfortunatly the auction was a bit to rich for me but I still made my donation anyway with a couple of key rings.
For those that didn’t make it, it is worthwhile so try and get to the next one, I’ll be there.
Stuart
P.s.
For those that heard the story of my journey up, nothing fell off the car on the way home!!!
It sounded a great night and i wished i could have been there but too far for me.but maybe we could organise a southern party…so that people who cannot travel north could get together…however…i have just been told off cos my wife came i and read the posts…and said i never told her there was a party
…and she said it would have been a great saturday night…can i park my motorhome up there near the venue…cos that maybe a good idea for next time…maybe after the southern party…now…now…dont be so greedy…
glad everyone had a great time and money raised for a just cause, and J.V. and his entourage there as well…cant ask for better than that…
have a nice day
i can only agree with whats been said so far, well done rikki, lucy and barry tozer for the bar tab, and setting the evening up.
my congratulations to sam and steve, and dapper.
lastly a big thanks for all who turned up and made it a good night out, (except david5l at 03.25
) and the best sunday morning breakfast ive had for a long time.
Yes, im soory I missed it. too late home to get there, some of us work for a living
Last week I managed to book a room in the Roman Way using an online reservation service.
Today I got a phone call from them wanting to charge me the room fee
£40 plus a cancellation charge £20
Obviously they got quite short shrift for this and I had to speak to the area manager.
After many but, but, but, I realised his English was not so clever and he understood poopadum
I refused to pay 20 quid more than if I had slept in his poxy room for not turning up
This story may continue
I’d like to add my thanks to Rikki and Lucy for a greart night also to Barry of truckersworld for his hand full of beer tokens. Also it was nice to put names to faces.
congrats to dapper, on passing her class 1.
congrats to steve and sam too soon to hear to patter of tiny feet in their household
I almost didn’t make it back safe and sound, as I had to ask Simon to pull over a mere hour up the road, or else the inside of his car was going to get seriously messy! So, that considered, I must have had a good night
It was great meeting people. Pretty much nobody looked quite how I was expecting them. After 6 vodkas everyone looked a lot alike mind you.
Stayed at the Hollies. It had clean sheets but thats about it! Not somewhere you’d stay if you hadn’t spent all your money on booze instead.
I was also impressed by Lib’s stair-tackling capabilities.
Dapper Scavenger:
It was great meeting people. Pretty much nobody looked quite how I was expecting them.
Four people have said that I realise that my appearance scares people that know me (for those that didn’t go) I am hideously tall, overweight and even if I am wearing a decent blouse you can still see the ghost traces of a tabard and steelies but the only people whos apperance suprised me was David51, Liberace and Dapper for the same reason which was they were so much younger than I expected!
So what suprised the rest of you?
