Trucking up for the night in leicester

anyone know of a good layby that is safe quite and where I wont be woken up by Micky blue near leicester

Plenty of laybys up the A6 from Market Harborough to Leicester. Apart from one in Kibworth that says no overnight parking for HGVS. Which is a bit of a joke as I’d have thought a layby fully parked up for the night was quieter for residents than trucks stopping and starting having a 45.

Have heard rumours of diesel thefts round there but have been ok so far touch wood. Always think you’re better in a layby with a kerbed concrete area between it and the carriageway rather than foliage from a fuel theft point of view.

Have seen people parked up in services just at the end of the Harborough bypass don’t know if it costs or not.

A46 dual - carriageway .

Come off at M1 J21A /A46 Northbound.
One on left + one on right top of hill before next exit (opposite carriageway - turn at next exit A50 + come back) < Both between M1 + A50 turnoff .
Both have division kerb from carriageway .

Diesel suckers everywhere these days, no matter where you park.

.

yes I agree
but better with trees between the carriageway and layby
but then you get all the gay boys and pervert hanging around your space
or as our friend micky blue calls it the gay community that meat up in these special safe parking laybys

It is Yes

If you ever need to park up near Leicester then perhaps the Boston road industrial estate opposite the 24 hours Tesco at Beaumont leys and the layby behind the same tesco where the recycling clothes bins are if gone by 7am

The pub in that shopping complex does good meals and there is always the toilets in tescos should you need them

There are planty of secutity cameras around the shopping complex and I do not know of any incidents with LGV overnighters who park in that area

few…eeeee
all is safe a night

I’ve parked in that exact spot by the recycling bins a couple of times no problem. The good thing is you’ll just look like you’re queuing to tip at Tescos the bad thing is you do get a few Stobarts wagon queuing up round that service road all night with drivers talking to each other, engine starting the usual. Also get the odd customer actually stopping to use the recycling bins at 2am as the store is 24hrs.

Also don’t go straight across the 2nd roundabout in the morning half asleep as you end up going through a housing estate with give way traffic calming that’s not artic friendly. Looks like a major route at the roundabout but isn’t, well in the dark any way.

You wouldn’t really want to go any further into the city centre than Beaumont as ind ests and certainly laybys dry up except possibly Freemans Common ind est.

I usually park in this ‘Meridian’ circular industrial estate road, just off J21 of the M1.

It’s OK for overnight stops, but no good during the day. The old bill won’t bother you unless you’re daft enough to block an entrance to a business.
