Bad luck on subscription. Get your money back and spend it on something more useful though. The truck mags get very boring after about three issues - recycled stories abound!
Kelsey paid £1.1 million for Trucking and TSN so I suspect they’ll soldier on with the print edition. Don’t be surprised if some of the better-known contributor names fall by the wayside, though
Kelsey produce Classic and Vintage Commercials, once a good read now full of old drivers war stories, photos of the same lorries doing the same road runs with lots of adverts. They’re also biased towards Atkinson Borderers and have possibly the longest and most tedious feature ever written; “The A to Z (should be zzzzzz) of anyone in the world who’s built a lorry”.
Going back to Trucking, the rot was setting in, their “Truck on Trial” features were wishy washy and very rarely told you which lorry was better. If one lorry had a niggle, they’d make up/find something silly against the other vehicle. Having said that, I thought it by far better than T&D.
Just I case anybody is interested it would appear that the new owner, Kelsey publishing, have plans to continue with the digital edition.
They will be setting up there own app and subscriptions will be available again. In the meanwhile you will need to claim a rebate from iTunes support for any outstanding subscription.
Having read the Facebook message I emailed them on:-
asking what I needed to do with regarding my outstanding subscription.
I received a swift reply advising I claim a rebate but also offering me a complimentary subscription for the remaining period of my current one.
Definately worth a try and providing I can get my rebate out of iTunes that works out at 11 free issues for me.
Cheers
Neilf
PS: I’ve just noticed there is now another post on Facebook offering the complimentary subscription. Sorry but I don’t know how to link it to this post. Neil.
There appears to be some conflicting advise as to where you claim your subscription rebate from so I contacted Future publishing and asked them.
If you purchased your subscription directly from Future then seek your rebate from them or else if you made the purchase direct from the app store then claim your rebate back from iTunes.
Yes I got this message on my iPad. Looks like Roadway magazine is the only UK haulage mag on the App Store now. Amazingly it rates 12 of 165 in the Newsstand Automotive category so people are obviously downloading it. It certainly isn’t a drivers’ mag, but worth a look maybe? I think they do proper road tests and company profiles.
I have heard that none of the old Trucking contributors will be writing for Kelsey. Money I suppose.
