Forgive me if this has already been done, but what are posters’ favourite trucking films?
Mine is always going to be Hell Drivers. The speeded up shots of Bedford or Commer 4 wheel tippers going round corners near Denham, defying gravity and bouncing along grass verges like vibrators is hilarious.
Another good one that seems to have disappeared now, was White Line Fever, that had at least some point to it, about an owner-driver fighting the union.
I always thought that they were Leyland comets or Dodges.
But a great film , especially the way the water splashes fell back into the puddles!
Anyone remember Cannonball on the TV from the 50’s ?
Parrot nosed Dodge’s in Hell Drivers.
I think you’re right. Senior memory loss again!
The greatest moment? When Stanley Baker was doing his test drive down narrow lanes far too fast. He asked what happens if something is coming the other way. The reply was, “Look on the bright side.”
