In 1983 I started for P.G Horridge road traction out of Poole.We did work for R&G Maritime,Aquilla,MAT & Interoute.Other firms I remember from Poole,Bernie Kellaway,Colin Duffett Cecil Compton,ECT.
Dave Ketteringham from Phil’s drives a tanker from round St Genis nowadays.
The big ELF Truckstop at Barbezieu on the N10 is Claudes.I believe St Genis is run by a Dutchman but still belongs to Claude.
Hi Dave. Ive been wanting to post this photo for a long time…
cant find a shot of KRH, but hope this one will suffice
Cheers truckerash.I drove BMB after Phil “upgraded” me to a newer motor
She weren’t a patch on KRH.Couldn’t drop a gear at 60MPH & get out of trouble & I dont mean split.

Hiya,
Remember Jamiesons at Heywood, they did continental, I recall dropping
bits and bobs of groupage into them on the odd occasion they also were
in Southampton got a return load or two off them over the years they did
quite a bit of general haulage as well.

Hi Di Hi Harry, can you or matamoros remember where Jameson’s yard was in Heywood in the 70’s as I am struggling to remember exactly where they were back then.
I have feeling that they might of been at the old R.A.F. Heywood base near the Sea Route Ferries depot although this photo somehow reminds me of the old Oswald Inghams yard just off Green Lane.

Not at all sure of this but I have a feeling that they used Merricks yard on Adelaide Street, Heywood.
I didn’t know Oswald Inghams had a yard off Green Lane but Henry Nuttalls had one of their warehouses that could be accessed off Green Lane, a long time ago now and memories fade!!
Inghams took over a yard at Corporation Road, Rochdale in the 80’s, I parked up there for a couple of years, the yard is now the base for Rosso buses,

The warehouse in the first photo is Smith of Maddiston Manchester depot,Jameson’s used to load gathered groupage at least once a week from that depot, they also usually had a couple of trailers awaiting loading for Germany from out of that shed.
