COPYRIGHT ISSUE

We have recieved an e-mail regarding some of the photo’s in this thread.

Some of them are copyrighted and only available from
www.articulationpix.com

I am awaiting a list of copyrighted photo’s and I will have to remove them from this thread .

When posting pictures please endeavour as much as possible to ensure they are either copyright free or that you have asked permission for them to be used from the copyright holder

rikki ive just been to that site and all his picks have articulationpix across them the ones on this thread dont so surley whoever posted them on here have either bought them or are the original owner so either way is it not their right to do with them what they want .

the trucks belonged to a company called M L EXECUTIVES, owned by the
WHO pop group for their transport, i did a few jobs for them in a garage in southampton.

I am informed that any photo’s bought from that website have a sticker on the back stating that the copyright remains with the original holder, even if they dont the image is still the intellectual property of the person who took it.

and as such they have the legal right to not have the image published without their express agreement

who posted them rikki■■?

fair comment rikki, but in my opinion this is about money not copyright if pics bought off that site turn up on here then theyve not got articulationpix slapped across em, which means anyone can then save an unobstructed pic to their pc
meaning theyd then have no reason to buy the pics from articulationpix.if articulationpixs dont want their pics turning up on the web then they shouldnt put them on the web for sale.i dont no what pics they are or who posted em but theyre not just posted for no reason people have either asked about a firm they used to work for or truck they used to drive. no one is trying to set up another pics website with their photos.i notice truckphotos4sale or euro-wheels have not complained and you see their pics all over trucknet and with trucknet being as big as it is you cant tell me the guys that run them 2 sites dont know their pics are on here

Couldn’t agree more Carl - there are some very greedy plaigiarists out there, doing their best to frighten people by (wrongly) putting copyright stickers on the back of photographs they didn’t even own in the first place.

I’ve seen pictures for sale which I know for a fact do not belong to the people who are stickering them with their copyright. In some cases I was stood next to the person who took the picture and they weren’t aware someone else was selling them.

It’s got nothing to do with protecting ‘intellectual property’ and everything to do with cashing in. It stinks.

Well said Carl and Marky, I’m with you on this one, I’ve seen the Articulationpix stall at Gaydon I think ,and most if not all of HIS photos were taken recently, or from around 2000 onwards so all of the older stuff must be ones that he has bought from ‘Proper’ Photographers

It’s funny because I could comment on so many of these posts. But I’ll spare you! Except one: The Scania a couple of pages back (Swiss Flyer) is owned by a guy in the northeast who went on to start Lightning Freight (sorry, his name escapes me). He still owns it. His web URL is: www.lightning-freight.co.uk. I’m sure he’d love to see those pictures.

oh man, its a shame, but whatever happened to just taking a photo and sharing it with people…

I must admit it’s shameful for these photos to be locked away gathering dust when you can share them with people who are enthusiastic about the subject.
I personally have no intention of copying anybody elses photos to make money from and to the best of my knowledge trucknet is free.

There’s an obvious answer to this, don’t visit the Articulo…whatever their name is’s site and boycott them. Most people are only too pleased to get the free advertising they get in here when drivers refer to them.
Best thing to do is, if in doubt, credit the source.

I have just bought 1 photo from him off Ebay. No mention of copyright on the sale. Picture comes sticker stuck on it and a note about not being allowed to copy or re use it in anyway without there permission.

Cant have it both ways. most older images dont belong them anyway

lets all email complaints to them really ■■■■ them off

most of the best pics ive seen have been contributions from members of this forum… and totally free…
it takes a lot of work to post some of the threads seen here… i personally appreciate them all…
going back to my last post, isnt it all about sharing memories and experiances… with like minded people?
if anyone is posting pics to make a fast buck on here…
no chance, go somewhere else,
this is a free forum, we all look forward to seeing stuff we havent seen before…

I well remember the truckstop at Carisio in Italy , Brilliant food , Wine and Midges weekend there and then down to Bologna , all that and 2 bob a week   Pulling for Interoute but worked for Trans Oman Haulage, Or was it Southern Forklifts depended on which week it was.

harry:
Dieselcowboy What’s the old boys name on Beresford. He is a legend in his own lunchtime.

I was just wondering what his name was too, as you say he was a well known character as well. In fact I remember the last time I saw him was about 20 years (Bloody Hell, where’s the time gone) ago, in the wheelhouse, I believe he was going a bit funnyat the time, because as I remember it he was wanting to pick a fight, with anybody that was. Sad really,

All I can remember of Carisio is being knee deep in mud, bitten to death my mozzies and the toilets being awash with yellow water!
