Welcome Harvey and thanks for the great pics especially the Mack and the Marathon
thanks for sending the photos harvey, thats the mack i’ve been in. i liked the marathon, the atki and the berliet and always remember the drawbar as it was quite different back then.
Glad you enjoyed the pics. Sorting out a few of the older Grant lorries and of course some of the more recent ones.
very good harvey, how recent are the recent ones?would i still see them about?back in the mid 70’s my brother had an aec,volvo86 and a man232 and thats when i got into transport.i hated having to go with the aec driver, the volvo was ok and then the man arrived with double bunks, such a difference better than the old caravan seat across the back window of the “sleeper cab” volvo f86
The most recent ones are on the new millenium album on my site. One of the current lorries that you will still see on the road is on the home page of the site - I have added the links below.

love that dennison and going to malta too thought i might have seen the scania with the silver visor about recently but without alloys?some great old trucks in there, nice variety.the figaro trucks are new to me,dont recall them.by the way do you drive yourself?
Yes, the red scania with the chrome visor and exhauts - GLZ 323 - that’s the one I’m driving myself. On route to Dublin at the moment.
Those Turbostar pics bring back some great memories, a much underrated truck in its day, I’ve owned a couple of them and can’t praise them enough.
For their day a quiet, comfortable truck that pulled well with reasonable economy (not the V8 ) and superb mechanical reliability, especially when fitted with the 13 speed Fuller box.
Shame about the ‘tin worm’ that blighted the cab on what was otherwise a well specced truck with air con as standard and as cheap as chips. I once bought a 5 1/2 year old 190 36 T/star from an auction for £2,750, gave it a coat of nice metalic red & silver and went straight on Spanish work with it never missing a beat in over 2 1/2 years.
Ross.
YOU WERE LUCKY, YOU GOT A BARGAIN. I HAD TO GIVE £34,000 EACH FOR THE 190 36’S IN 1989. RELIABLE ENOUGH - WENT TO PARIS EVERY WEEK FOR 3 YRS - NO TROUBLE. CHANGED TO DAFS AFTER THAT - GAVE SOME TROUBLE.
GLAD U ENJOYED PICS

its been mentioned in one of the posts in this thread but i aint searching 30 odd pages so anyway heres one of the most famous 80,s continental motors my mate took this pic at a truckfest in the 80,s
I knew the young O/D in the above snap.I had to give him a jump start . A few months later he had to return the favour ; he was scared stiff of blowing the side out of his battery. He lost that truck when his wife divorced him. Trouble was that he was too much eye candy for the gals.
found a better pic
Got any of John Raymonds from the 80s? I got a few from when they had the Atki 400s,d-reg FL10s g-reg F10s and a few others. When i get around to it i,ll post them.
P.S. Thanks for the great photos,i remember a lot of the trucks from when i used to go with my dad and brothers a long time ago.
