I’m a bit of a Truckfest Virgin can you just turn up on the day (lorry excluding) ie with family and friends and pay to get in or do you need to book in advance?
You can pay on the gate
you have to show your hgv licence, and your last 7 days tachograph charts/printouts.

You can either buy them in advance for a small discount I think or as the others have said on the door. I’ll be at Truckfest Scotland so might see ya there
Went last year. Never will I go again.
Fortune to get in and £10 for burger and chips.
All you do is look at trucks and watch some demonstrations.
If it was £5 then yeah, but by the time you pay your fee plus food and parking you can be £50 out of pocket. Not to mention getting there from Ayrshire.
Absolutely no public transport.
You can pay on the gate, but if you plan on camping I think you have to book in advance as you would if you were taking the lorry. Take your own food as you don’t want your wallet being raped by the extortionate prices for food and you can get back in if you go out as they stamp your hand to say you’ve paid, as that’s what me my dad and uncle used to do when we went to driffield we took our own food came out for about 12 had half an hour to an hour having our lunch then went back in.
. Most of the truck stands will be there minus a few manufacturers sometimes but definitely make sure you have a camera with you as you can get a few snaps and they make for good desktop wallpapers/screensavers. There will be stalls to get clothing, model trucks etc usually at a fairly high price but you’ll find you get some freebies too. I remember the first time i went to the scotland show and wisemans were advertising their young driver scheme course while selling milk off for a fairly decent price! It’s a good day out, not cheap by any means but it’s alright for what you pay for. Unfortunately for me I’m not going to any truck show again this year As my holiday clashes with the scotland show so it’ll be next year I go again! But if it’s your first truck show it’s likely you wont forget it I still remember my first truck show
Still have the first t-shirt I bought too
Oh and I forgot to mention they usually pick the dates where they think it’s going to ■■■■ it down Or at least that’s what it seems to be when most truck shows you go to it rains!
Cheers

To get ripped off by tat merchants, to be taught how to park your car by a boy scout in hi viz vest, get ripped off for a lard burger and chips, the chance to meet ■■■■■■ Traffic and a few nobodies from some crap tv shows…
…Oh and watch a motorcycle display team and a wrecker pull a lorry up onto it’s wheels, with a naff monstertruck thrown in for good measure (like every year)
The Classic Commercial Motor Show at Gaydon is a far better day out with a more varied choice of lorry manufacturers to see.
how much are the burgers
i agree, truckfest is crap. it has been for a while now.
it needs sorting out. like if someone is overcharging for food and drinks, then [zb] them off. no ifs or buts.
if i want to buy cheap crap, then i can go to one of the many car boot sales near home.
i went to one at haydock about 10 years ago. it was prety good. since then its gone down faster than a vietnamese prostitute.
So I guess taking own food is on the cards, and £4 for parking. The misses is starting to really get into lorries at the moment so she’ll really enjoy it and it’s something I’ve always wanted to go to as well.
at peterborough truckfest, parking is free as you park on the showground it’s self
Park in the industrial estate at ratho station, miss the crowds save yourself 4quid. Just walk over the footbridge.

He’s on the bins none of rubbish to worry about!
I’ve never understood the attraction.
I look at lorries all the time, mainly the back of them, so I’ve no desire to spend any money looking at some more in my free time. It’s like a toilet cleaner going to Toiletfest on his day off and looking at various different toilets in a field all day before the big finale; the flushing demonstration, how exciting.
It’s okay for kids I suppose, but for a grown man? On his own? Eddie Spotters get enough abuse on here, I can’t see any difference myself.
