The Road Legends

It’s about…
What the viewer wants isn’t it. I’ll drop in on the Road Legends because it costs me nothing to do so. They’re all as qualified as I am and get on with the job. The difference being, they’ve seen a marketing opportunity and taken it. Nothing wrong with making a shilling whilst your getting paid by someone else, it’s good business. I’ll hazard a guess that it may well encourage people to think about becoming drivers.
The celebrity thing, I avoid like the plague. I’ve stumbled upon a few celebs over the years in airports and made a decision to walk right around them. I kinda sympathize with them a little. I went out, as a foursome with our respective ladies for the evening with a leading cast member from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in a pub in Putney. The whole night we were interrupted for selfies and signed beer mats by complete strangers, literally just butting into the conversation with no manners whatsoever.
You can keep the fame, I’ll keep the money.
Just watched that video ^^^^ frankly I’m conflicted!!! I so much wanted to hate him (for no other reason than my own prejudice) but found that I warmed to him. The whole scene certainly isn’t my cup of Earl Grey but who am I to criticise? He certainly brings pleasure to many people and that can only be a good thing I reckon.
Plus if he encourages the next generation of lorry drivers it’ll maybe stop miserable old ■■■■■ like me ■■■■■■■■ about the EE’s flooding into the job.
So all in all I’m certainly not a fan, but I admire his efforts l
For those of you who’ve never been, Lincoln showground is quite a decent venue. Was there in 2015 for the Harley-Davidson Super Rally.

I say good luck to him, he is a ex lorry driver who is earning a fortune being on YouTube. As maoster says he is encouraging the next-generation into haulage…far better than the miserable gits we have on this site
Hmmm!!!

Why is he so excited about owning a 10 year old Maritime lookalike?
The video might have got better but I found I was sticking biros into the back of my hands by the time he’d left the yard!

Agreed there is a lot of bitter and jealous people really. It is good that he can be positive in an industry that always puts us down. Good luck to him I say. The way he is going it will not be long before he has a 770S while all the moaners are polishing their bosses tank, doing 15’s 24/7, getting divorced and doing it all for £12 a hour.
Ahh well you two (My (ex) mate Maoster
and Elsa lad ) have put me in my place.
Ok.
As for attracting people into the industry…is this sort of stuff not giving them a complete false impression of the job ?
I would imagine that 90% of them will get a reality check pretty soon, trying to find a suitable parking place overnight for their poverty spec Craptros after a 15 hour day stressathon …and think this is not what I was expecting at all.
Btw @ Adam…
Me bitter,?..Well that’s open to opinion.
Jealous?..How well you (DON’T ) know me.
Don’t knock me off of your Chrimbo card list just yet Robroy, as I said it’s not for me but he’s better than some of the screaming yeehaw “truckers” that pollute facetube IMO. Yes, the first ten minutes were a cringefest but after that he just came across as an enthusiast rather than a look at me look at me ■■■■.

Sometimes you just take me farrrrrr to seriously bud.
I don’t know why btw, no ■■■■ else does.

It’s a ex Mark Thompson unit…so it’s been up and down the M6 very quickly

It wasn’t directed at anyone really but everyone has their different tastes. Truckfest isn’t really my thing either. I am more a Goodwood festival of speed man myself but I do like trucks too.
It is just some people just cannot be happy seeing other people happy which is a bit sad really.
