Trucker charged with murder!

Never experienced road rage like that, but have had a couple of idiots step out infront and wave frantically to stop me. Both times it was nothing more than the local NIMBY, moaning about tipper lorries going to and from a building site. So tempted to just creep right upto the stupid git but as we’ve read, things can go wrong in a second.

Who was Mark working for Hammy ?

He was driving for Buckleys of Royton.

The trial has begun at Chester Crown Court today and from the grim reading in the Manchester Evening News it dont look to good.

Not heard of them, what do they do? Evidence and witnesses against him doesn’t look good

Murder I would say.

Someone tried to use their 44 ton artic as a battering ram on my motorhome last Thursday on the A50 :unamused:
Good job I can drive, otherwise it could have all ended differently.
Plain and simple fact is that some out there should not be allowed to drive large vehicles.

Container work mostly, based in Chadderton,Oldham, gotta agree it doesn’t look good. never get out the cab, just ain’t worth it.

I’m not a moderator here, but just to remind people it would be unwise to make any comment about the guilt or innocence of anyone regarding this case.

It’s OK to flag up reports of court proceedings in the press, but I wouldn’t make any other comment.

Buckleys - red dafs with yellow sign writing?

trubster:

Pat Hasler:
Innocent until proven guilty.

What that man said.

No blue and white DAF’S based in Royton, nothing to do with Buckleys of Chadderton.

Sorry but I must disagree as in the UK now it is guilty until proven innocent, otherwise why was he not released on bail ?

The murder charge was probably brought in because a weapon was used ( the hgv ) and maybe because it was an ongoing row so to speak, but its a situation a lot of us have encountered along the way, some we win others we lose, and its not always so easy to just walk away as much as it annoys us. I look forward to the outcome.

Sounds like suicide?

Another horrific situation. There was an infamous local incident about a decade ago in which, IIRC, someone deliberately drove at a person, killing them, after expecting them to jump out of the way! :- telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ … dlord.html :- Seems like it’s not murder as long as you use a vehicle.

All depends whether the jury believes the driver’s version in the OP’s case I suppose.

On a weighbridge was you? :unamused:

It sounds more like a road rage incident. :unamused:

Unless of course you think that standing in front of a stationary lorry with your arms outstretched means you want your head squashed into the tarmac?

A good a reason as any,I suppose?

How did know he had his arms outstretched ?

Mr Unsworth said Michael Taylor, driving his Ford Transit van in the opposite direction, saw Mr Allen with his hands up standing in front of the lorry.

My mistake, he had his hands up.

Now I’m no sign language expert, but I’m pretty sure that doesn’t mean “come and run over my head please”.

It wasn’t suicide harry.

Problem with drivers kangaroo courts is that they become judge and jury . Kid on his first trip to Maroc got mugged in Tanger. Lost the sight of one eye and his job. The drivers had an inquest. The question they asked was when he left the Marco Polo did he turn left or right? If he turned left he was going back to truck ,if he turned right he was looking for gals. Anyway they stitched him up real good and gave the info to the boss who never paid a penny compo. Drivers that condemn their mates are as low as as you can get IMO .
